Next up after Downes and Laird?

Few stories that Roberts to Burnley is a goer.

Not surprised about Roberts, it would be a good move for him and probably his level. Just hope we get a fair price, another in his last year.

Not sure on Kaba personally, scores 1 in 3 which is ok but doesn’t appear to have played many games over the last 5 years & Championship fixture list is full on.

Bryan has a similar playing track record but always less concerning with more defensive players & noting he came through the Man City system I’m assuming he’s comfortable with a ball at his feet.

Burnley, I’m unsure about. He can do better.
However, let’s remember the FIFA club protection programme has been covering Roberts wages since his injury so that all helps.

Why anyone would want to go to a pit like Burnley beats me ,there's better clubs and places

Premier League wages.

I reckon there's a strong possibility Roberts is off, Russell Martin seemed sure during his press conference.

I'm with Jasper on the other thread though, especially when it comes to centre half, we have Brandon Cooper waiting in the wings for his chance, let the boy play before we use resources to bring players like Bryan in.

Bryan is free though. If we are playing 3 centre backs, we may need Bryan and Cooper. Especially after seeing Lati's performance there on Saturday.

As for Kaba. We can't afford him, Shirley?

As to your last point I’m hoping that is also the case with Lati once he gets used to doing it again.

Until he's recovered and recovered fitness and form it's unlikely he'll being going anywhere.

Latty's discipline is my worry.
Given Guehi came good, very good towards the end of his time here people do forget he was no great shakes to begin with (probably because he's not a true centre back but was being played as one).

played 42 games averaging 70 minutes + per game last season.
14 goals 6 assists.
Given his profile is rising it would a huge coup if we could bring him in!

Free but not cheap wages I would have thought. Sheff Utd offered him an extension but he wound his contract down instead.

True, but he probably didn't want a new contract there, as he knows he's not getting in the team. On the bench in the championship. If he was more assured a spot in the team, which he would be with us (perceivably), he may sign. Maybe it's not about the money.
We do need another CB IMO and it's either sign on, or get one in on loan, which doesn't seem popular on here.

Has Bryan had experience playing the ball out from the back in a back 3 would be my question.

My issue with Bryan when we were first linked is that he only looks like he can play in a 3 (well that and I don't think he's particularly good). Would no more have him in a centre back pairing than I would Naughton.

Bennett, Cabango, Naughton, Latibeaudiere, Cooper will all want to play games. If they're not considered good enough then it's time to sell someone.

Yeah I suppose.
If you're classing Naughton as a CB, maybe we don't need one.

I'd like to see Naughton in for Lati next match for sure.

I agree he potentially has the ability to do better, I think if you exclude the Manchester Clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea, spurs, then there's 15 Premier league teams left who he could do a job for in one sense or other. But....

A) he's going to want guaranteed playing time to give him the best shot of being first choice for Wales in a position that has some reasonable competition at present.

B) who's to say any of the other 14 unmentioned clubs have shown any interest in him? Whether we like it or not Burnley is still a considerable step up from where we are at present.

Naughton is definitely a centre back in a three. I think he’s better there than at fullback to be honest.

In a back four, no way, he’s not physical enough.
