We got endless squabbling over whether super coach Steve was overated ,found out misunderstood or simply unloved for some reason.
We are still getting it.
I might a well join in.
Cooper buggered up an excellent chance of promotion with good players some of whom were themselves buggered by this chap who ,I would suggest,has seen his bubble burst spectacularly.
Benda ,unforgivibly,had to make way for Woody,whose perma selection is Cooper's legacy for me. | |

Yeah I agree with this.
I think his style of management is perfectly suited to cup/knockout football. He does manage to get the players up for each game and grind results out on a game to game basis very well.
He doesn't seem to be bothered about how the opposition play and always used to say that he doesn't care about that and the boys need to only concentrate on themselves.
This would work much better on the international scene IMO. | |

Southgate was a nonentity as a club manager. At International level he's got England to the latter stages of two consecutive tournaments. I wouldn't (and didn't) want to watch that style week in week out, but it's effective in International football.
Cooper plays the same way. I'd expect him to do quite well with Wales if he got the job. [Post edited 26 Aug 2021 10:43]
