Idiots behind me were awful. Saw one of them with a coin in his hand ready to throw and they were all abusing the stewards, who were very welcoming and friendly.

We have some great fans who follow us away all the time , unfortunately we also have a sizable element who are an embarrassment and have no idea how to behave or represent the club and city.

After my stupid years which ended at Millwall away in the mid eighties I looked at large groups like this as a distraction for other idiots to concentrate on. Away games were then far easier to navigate.

Normally I’d have moved but it was sold out so had no choice. I’ve seen how these thing develop in work. Was very aware of what could’ve happened. Young lads, too much ale, egging each other on. I know it’s been done to death but that doesn’t happen in rugby.

Not so much in the ground, but then rugby isn’t classified as a ‘disorder’ situation like football is pre and post match. Anyone witnessing the arrest rates after certain games at the millennium would agree. However, yes, football as it always has some attracts more confrontational people.

The biggest disorder I have seen at a sporting event came in 1983 ( I think ) when Ackerman scored the winning try in Dublin. Before the game it was absolute mayhem and afterwards was even worse.
The main ingredient as always alcohol.

Taking my dad to the Italy game next Saturday (he’s so excited) going to soak up the atmosphere before the game, pop over to Cardiff Bay for a meal on the train, enjoy the game and come home. There is no way I’d ever take him to an away game with Swansea. Wouldn’t want him to put up with all that nonsense. The idiot that threw the flare, almost hit the steward, people in the front row.

I’m sure there are idiots in the rugby, but isolated people as opposed to the group mentality is a different animal.

Having read of your dads day out when we put his picture on the website when you took him to a swans home game, I bet he will be like a kid on Christmas Eve next weekend.

Special times.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

If they stuck to pints perhaps they would be better behaved.
The shots etc are no good to man or beast.
Then there are drugs.
Agree, coins etc should not be thrown and food should be eaten.

A bunch of them were in the same pub as us well oiled at 12.30.
Not saying they were to blame for any wrongdoing.
Definitely in no fit state to watch football though

As regards to Blackpool they must see it every other weekend

Question is why ? There was a post the other day, think it was Bristol about a lad being assaulted as he was a pen away fan in the home end. People were justifying it, saying he shouldn’t have been there. Stand back for a second and think about that. People saying it’s ok to assault someone as they were in the wrong section in a football match.
As I was walking back to my car on Saturday, this pillock from Blackpool walked up to about 6 of us and wanted a fight. We all just laughed and walked away, but this guy was my age, in his 40s. Just don’t understand why football attracts these people ?

I like trying to have a chat with oppo fans on the way to and from the ground if I can, it’s a game. Never understood the anger involved. To me it’s completely bizarre,

Same here.
Went to a friendly home pub on Saturday and chatted to some locals before the game.
No hassle.
Used to go away and sit in the home stand when in the lower divisions especially to get a better view of the game.
Never had bother.
Act tidy and most treat you tidy.
Always some who spoil it on both sides
