36 league appearances , plus two cup appearances
20 league goals, plus two Cup goals
Didn't feature in 8 games plus four more to go.
Could easily have hit 30 goals if he had played in every game.
Our best since Bony without a doubt

Doesn’t have the charisma Bony had but could prove to be even more deadly.
What let’s him Dow ,if that’s the right phrase,is his lack of heading prowess but there again,we don’t have any decent crossers of a ball.

A great bit of business by the club. £1 million now got to be worth £20 million.
He’s going to the premier league I have no doubt, hopefully with Swansea the season after next.

Joel Piroe : A simple warning to those clubs who think he will solve their goal scoring problems 19th Apr 2022 10:17
He has most certainly earned himself a reputation as a seriously decent goal scorer in the championship this season. His name is Joel Piroe and by all accounts without him there is no party. 0

41 league appearances but I will let you off.

No. I don't know him however I know how the club tends to operate, I'm more than willing to be proved wrong on this one.

I do not recall a young winger called Ronaldo being good at heading the ball. He is now. Young Cullen is also weak in this area and is going through a toughing up process at Lincoln I would imagine. Tho be a number 9 in UK you have to be brave and prepared to get hurt occasionally.

Absolutely nothing, but you also haven’t got a clue whether he’ll be here next season.

Let’s deal in fact shall we. JP is a Swansea player and has more chance of being here next season than leaving, unless you have some inside Information ?

None of know for definite of course, but as only 4 players in the top two divisions have managed more goals than Piroe, and given our owners past record when the ( expected ) offers come in for him, IMHO i think he will be sold.
I hope you are right and i am wrong, but i wouldn't be surprised to see him sold.

It would be good if we had the foresight to get rid of the deadwood, use the money saved in wages to offer Joel an improved contract and push for promotion next season.
If all goes well his value would soar and we would get promoted.
Win win

Win win, unless all doesn't go well.

Getting rid of deadwood isn't easy, I'm sure we've been trying. No one was coming close to making it worthwhile for Fulton to leave in January, given what he makes here. But deadwood isn't the reason we have to recoup losses with player sales. Even a lean and mean squad of good players costs more than Championship sides can afford without regularly selling players.

The question is whether rolling the dice on promotion is worth loading the club up with £15-20m of debt it might not find other ways to pay off. Fingers crossed and hope for the best isn't the best strategy for football clubs without the luxury of billionaire/state backing.

If Everton were to come down I think there would only be 2 promotion places left next season.

Not sure how by keeping their best players but selling / loaning / giving some free transfers, is getting us into £20 million of debt ?
I am certainly not advocating spending anywhere near that sum ?
