Anyone apart from liverpool and utd.
City apologise to Olsen and launch investigation Sadly, once again on-field celebrations are tarnished by the actions of an idiot.
Manchester City have released a statement apologising to Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen, who was assaulted after the final whistle at today’s match when fans entered the pitch.
"The club has launched an immediate investigation and once identified, the individual responsible will be issued with an indefinite stadium ban," say City.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Crazy, why on earth would anyone do that? Just come back from 2 nil down, to win 3-2. and win the title, and then assault the opposition goalie.
Any normal fan would be on cloud 9 after that comeback, not looking to assault someone.

I said it before the main reason all that trouble in Wembley last year aswell rubbish agency stewarding we get a lot of these agency workers with us they get rubbish hours, rubbish pay, some speak little English they are just a body in a HV with zero power, the first thing they want to know when they turn up is can they leave early because they've travelled miles and got another shift else where later that day. The answer is a line of OB pitchside but it will cost a lot more and doesn't look good on the box for the Premier league. I predict it will kick off big time next season at some game there will be a perfect storm you know its coming then the FA & the government will be scratching thier heads saying didn't see this coming

Dead right but let's have the football public support the Police for a change.
Nobody should be on the pitch.Full stop. It's a criminal offence.
Leeds a few weeks ago was portentous when steward actually stood and watched objects being chucked on to the pitch
Bottom line, stewards cannot and should not be expected to do the job of Police Officers although, looking at the way the Police service is now,God only knows how they would react or not,as the case may be.

The clubs who play in these fixtures should all be told to employ maximum numbers of police at events like these. Regardless of cost.

Buenos dias Guv Indeed so. Policing costs were a sore point for many clubs but the fact is stewards are not equipped to deal with disorder, nor should they be. You will remember no doubt the cost issues for individual Police Forces (service) for inside police and outside aides .
Like it or not, there is potential for serious disorder in any football stadium and the idea to make pitch invasion criminal was to make people think more before acting like jerks.
Fans have often invaded pitches of many sports but I feel there is a latent malevolence now that has laid dormant for several years. People are ,I fear, more unsettled int their lives and basically angry, not unlike the 80s.
As for sentencing
Really,if we are serious ,let' s see courts impose an immediate 3 year gaol sentence and passport confiscated .
