Cases are rising in Germany too without really troubling hospitals too much. It'll always happen now, we've got to live with it somehow.

Works for the NHS as much time off sick as you want (as with others who work within the public sector).

Absolutely. Some want it to go on in perpetuity. County Jim loves it when someone dies, he straight on here to announce it. He also works in a hospital, very creepy.

NHS staff are made to stay home when sick due to working with a large amount of vulnerable people. Dont blame the staff that work incredibly hard to keep the NHS afloat. Blame the UK and Welsh governments for their failure to provide adequate funding and mismansgment of the health service.

Some NHS workers will struggle to get to work when his RMT heroes get their strike up and running. Strike and so what if people die. It ll be down to the Tories ,innit.

I can guarantee you a large proportion of the NHS do not work hard & they are an embarrassment to those within the NHS who do. A shite stain on their profession.

| Expect another wave on 07:05 - Jun 16 with 1197 views | Dr_Winston | I always have very great difficulty taking seriously anyone still claiming that the NHS is "underfunded". It's usually found in the list of largest employers in the World with nearly 1.5m people working for it and an annual budget in the ballpark of £150bn. What it is is very poorly run and immensely wasteful. Unfortunately any Government knows that it's a sacred calf and any serious attempts to reform it would be political suicide. It's why the constant declarations that the Tories are on the verge of privatising the NHS are and always have been laughable. The moment they do it they lose the next election and they're well aware of that. They might tinker around the edges but no more and the calls for ever increasing sums of money to be poured into it will continue. I do have sympathy for the front line staff though. I would probably agree that not enough resource is actually making it through to the places that matter. | |

It’s irrelevant how much money the nhs gets. It will continue to be a money monster until the health of the population is improved. The people who keep wanting the nhs to keep on getting billions more each year, are in my opinion thick as two short planks.

It has been shamefully run for years, with portions constantly being sold off to private companies to do as they wish. (And that is to make profit rather than provide a service) Its the classic tory mantra of run a service down, get people angry and wanting change, sell it off under the premise of it getting better. Service is expensive and not better. If there was any desire to see the NHS work it wouldve been done by now.

I’m temporarily working in the NHS after taking up a temporary covid related post. I can honestly say the teams I work with work exceptionally hard, they are committed and deliver an exceptionally high level of care and there are no malingerers or sick note types. To be honest I’ve been very impressed with their commitment and desire to deliver a high quality service.
