Fulton is contracted to 2024 according to Transfmkt. Assume he is on £500,000 a season and has a transfer value of say £2m.
Clearly the decision to give him that deal was a mistake. No one will pay a fee and no one will pay him these wages irrespective of playing style. Fulton's style suits plenty of other sides including Reading. Steve Cooper / Mark Allen over estimated the value of this player.
The transfer fee is an illusion he is worth zero and to Swansea his £1m is a liability unless to the final year is an option. Like Walsh and Bennett his is now simply a drain on the club's finances. The club can give him to Reading and take a hit and hope they take him for two seasons not one. He will replace Rinhamota who has gone to Cardiff.
Swansea need to wheel and deal. A quick deal taking a hit is sensible. Get it done. winners and losers. Get the losers out of the building asap. Fulton and Bennett have no future at Swansea. Why waste time? |  |

That is fair comment.
He was an ordinary rather featureless player but he could do a job and got stuck in which many of our players do not like. This is why I believe our coach was foolhardly in dumping him so early when others,ie,Cullen really should have been told they play no plart in his plans.

I think you are probably thinking of one of his few games on loan to Wigan was a 1-0 win v the all winning Manchester City in a FA cup tie. My memory is playing tricks but did hecore in that game? No it was Grigg. [Post edited 11 Jul 2022 22:10]

Decent player but hugely over rated for me the way some people go on about him. Just a tidy work man like CM who's skill set is lost in our possesion style. Martin knew this and went and got Downes straight away. Cooper valued him more as he played a more cautious, less possession based style where Fulton can be more affected.
If we played scrappy defensive football he'd be more useful but we don't.
I think it says it all we seem to be having a bit of trouble shifting him. Reading sounds like his right level to me. | | | |
