9 games without a win.

Now the worst run of games without a win in the football league in almost 23 years.

That was 11 winless in the 2000-01 season.

Blackpool (a)
Millwall (h)
Luton (h)

It’s a pretty kind next 3 games, 2 being at home. All fancied to finish outside the playoffs.

Need to win one of them to avoid having to put the work in to find out when we last went 12 without a win…

Didn’t we go 9 games without a defeat last season?

Let’s hope we can repeat, or even better it, this season eh?

“Not losing” isn’t the point of football though.

You can go 46 games without a defeat and still be relegated.

Talk to me about ‘wins in a row’ and I’ll listen.

we did indeed ...4 wins and 5 draws, the last win came against Derby now in Lg1

then followed draws against Barnsley relegated bottom of the table where we found oursleves 1 nil down at home we did the same against Boro, and there were the capitualtion of 3 goal leads both ah home v Bournemouth and away to Reading....then followed the trouncing by Forest again!!! and then losing to a scratch QPR side at home

Baes on the first 3 gsmes it doesnt seem Martin has learnt anything and judging by his pressers there is nothing wrong apart form the players execution of his system

Lifey is as worried as any of us.
He cares

We all do

Martin is splitting us .

And yes I detested Cooper too.

Well, Cullen scored last night and your goalkeeper of choice had a howler.

Fisher would not have made that mistake and Swansea would have had a good win.

Martin's "mentality" must change. He desperately needed a win and weakened his own team by removing the most influential player Darling and giving two debuts at that point was poor. I doubt Kris O'Leary would have said. "I would not do that gaffer". Calderwood or Williams might have.

...but Fisher has made those kinds of mistakes over and over, so how can you say that he wouldn't...it's just what you want to believe, an act of faith.

For fairness I demand that our fan base give the new manager 60 games to bed in (the same as they are prepared to give Martin) and Benda is installed as keeper for the season, regardless of how many mistakes he makes (just like Fisher was).

A new manager would organise us correctly and Benda would play as a keeper, not a sweeper, we would stop shipping goals and stabilise.
If our front 2 are given enough service we would be up in the top 8, competing...the thought seems to terrify some of us doesn't it.

Benda was given the position at the start of last season and immediately gave away a silly penalty v Blackburn. Fisher has been solid so far this season.

Because we were punching way above our weight.

On that run included:

Chelsea
Man City (twice)
Liverpool
Man Utd
Arsenal
Leicester
Everton

Should we go up again, I would expect a similar run at some point such is the gulf in difference between the above teams and a club just hoping to stay up.

I wouldn’t expect a 9 match non winning run at any level below the Premier League.

The club has been punching way above its weight ever since Martinez gained promotion to the Championship while the season you quoted — 2000/01, was one where very little cash was made available to Hollins even after winning the League Two Championship apart from free agents Savarese and Romo, and French reserve team loans Verschave and Fabiano.

In all reality ever since I have been following the Swans, the FA Cup s/f season of 63/64 the club struggled to break even with limited finance available from whoever sat in the Boardroom, while even the promotion season of 69/70 is just another example where automatic promotion from the fourth tier was attained from very little financial investment only to suffer relegation a few seasons later.

Punching above their weight is not new for the Swans.

25th March 1989 to 2nd September 1989.

Nonsense. Based on what?

In terms of squad ability and budgets we were in the upper third of most leagues we were in when Martinez took over onwards… and we still are.

This notion that we are a minnow League 2 side enjoying the ride is old had and quite frankly a load of rubbish.

That is the sort of stuff that drives me crazy mainly because it is posted either out of stupidity or malevolence as I simply do not believe it.
It is a crutch for the emotionally crippled

This is our club becoming a joke evidenced by a Blackburn Rover tripe side with a r oozier manager.

And some wonder why we get angry about where we are right now.

Incredible
