There's one or two I don't mind but some of them are (it seems to me) clearly tokenism. that's because they are utterly rubbish and have trouble stringing a sentence together, being a proper pedant mind and a bit pernickety too, there's plenty of UK pundits (men and women) who need to learn to speak English properly. These English people who can't tell the difference between f and Th is shocking. We should have Scottish pundits, they speak far better English! | |

It is noticeable that they all seem to be bloody gorgeous. None of the male pundits are there for their looks. Where are the ugly female pundits? That’s sexism in itself. |  |

Probably a tick box exercise in appearing being inclusive by all broadcasters , ITV are pushing female presenters big time too , especially this unnecessary doubles tournament .
No real concerns of their knowledge , which is fine, but the build up and experts who give their on opinions ahead of these events are now dragging on a bit , pushed by viewing figures probably .
John Arlott , in his commentary described St . Helens and Swansea Bay as a picture .
He took Test Match commentary to he listener , like myself .

Yep.
I’ll admit I thought it was tokenism at the start. The reality is, most of them are very knowledgeable, articulate and get their points across concisely.
It’s not just women, it’s phasing ours the old soaks like Merson and Lawrenson and replacing them with better, more engaging pundits. Micah Richards is probably the best example, but the likes of Alex Scott fall into that category too. | | | |

There's a degree of tokenism insisting on having female pundits on everything, some of the female football pundits aren't great but then again if Jamie O'hara can have a career in the media anything is possible.

Its a strange one for me
I've never really considered the pundits as experts, just former player who I enjoyed listening to their interpretation of the game.
I personally don't watch much womens football so can't relate to them.
However on the other hand think that Laura Woods on talksport is great to listen - but probably because she talks fromo the perspective of a fan and not a pundit or expert |  |

Standards will vary. Female pundits are relatively new so some of their standards may be somewhat lower and the poor ones may stand out more as they are female and will play into the ‘women shouldn’t talk about sport’ stereotype.
You’ll have people like Gabby Logan, Denise Lewis who are very knowledgeable and know their sport inside out but will be torn apart for any error by people searching for ways to deride them.
These women are breaking through the ceiling, girls previous to this had no role models, no inspiration, it ‘wasn’t for them’. Why shouldn’t it be ? There’s loads of women just as mad about sport as men, just as knowledgeable. Having female voices, encourages more girls to love sport and realise it can be them.
If they’re good enough, why not ?

I will admit she has an annoying voice but she's better than several men. Where I'll get more critical is calling them all articulate, that goes for the men too, with some of them you'd struggle to say English is their first language. I don't mind regional accents but at least use proper words and pronounce them properly too! | |
