| Female Pundits on 20:56 - Sep 25 with 1827 views | Catullus | There's one or two I don't mind but some of them are (it seems to me) clearly tokenism. that's because they are utterly rubbish and have trouble stringing a sentence together, being a proper pedant mind and a bit pernickety too, there's plenty of UK pundits (men and women) who need to learn to speak English properly. These English people who can't tell the difference between f and Th is shocking. We should have Scottish pundits, they speak far better English! | |

Some of the males are really rubbish too, take Garth Crooks, he speaks far better English than the white Pundits he's just so boring. I wouldn't mind Alex Scott but maybe there's a touch of sexism in there.

Neville, Keano and Micah are the best for me. Martin O’Neill is a good football man as well. Tim Sherwood is useless.

It is noticeable that they all seem to be bloody gorgeous. None of the male pundits are there for their looks. Where are the ugly female pundits? That’s sexism in itself.

| Female Pundits on 00:31 - Sep 26 with 1713 views | Robbie | Probably a tick box exercise in appearing being inclusive by all broadcasters , ITV are pushing female presenters big time too , especially this unnecessary doubles tournament . No real concerns of their knowledge , which is fine, but the build up and experts who give their on opinions ahead of these events are now dragging on a bit , pushed by viewing figures probably . John Arlott , in his commentary described St . Helens and Swansea Bay as a picture . He took Test Match commentary to he listener , like myself . Heads up for Bill Mclaren also . | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Female Pundits on 07:04 - Sep 26 with 1655 views | Dr_Winston | The standard of punditry in general is piss poor so I'm all for shaking it up a bit. For example there's absolutely no reason why someone as thick as Paul Merson still has a job doing it, other than to act as a paid troll. | |
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

| Female Pundits on 07:53 - Sep 26 with 1626 views | sw02sea | It’s seems that you now have to have at least 2 women on a football tv panel. Yet when the Lionesses were on their way to winning Euro 2022 it was mainly women, with the odd token male. I’m all for women having their independence, as long as my dinner is in the table and my shirts have been ironed. | | | |

Yep. I’ll admit I thought it was tokenism at the start. The reality is, most of them are very knowledgeable, articulate and get their points across concisely. It’s not just women, it’s phasing ours the old soaks like Merson and Lawrenson and replacing them with better, more engaging pundits. Micah Richards is probably the best example, but the likes of Alex Scott fall into that category too.
| Female Pundits on 08:57 - Sep 26 with 1566 views | Best_loser | Female pundits are ok but they are a bit boring because they don't have any anecdotes people like rodney marsh and dean Saunders would interject into their punditry to make it more entertaining | | | |

| Female Pundits on 11:20 - Sep 26 with 1475 views | Badlands | Some excellent some OK some pi$$ poor and the women are the same. I read Mark Lawrenson whining about wokism and being sacked for being old and white … nocMark you were, for many years, a whiney boor. Had you not been a very good player you would have been no where near a mike in the first place. My favourite pundit ATM is Gwennan Harries .. really shoots from the hip and doesn’t pander to reputation. | |

| Female Pundits on 11:29 - Sep 26 with 1470 views | sw02sea | engaging pundit Micah Richards ? Your avin a larff! He reminds me of that old song “The Laughing policeman” His inane laughing at anything, is so annoying Talking of the obligatory woman on a football panel, he’s there to tick the non Caucasian box. | | | |
| Female Pundits on 11:55 - Sep 26 with 1457 views | pencoedjack | If they are the best people for the job then yes, unfortunately they do not have the insight into football at the highest level. That scouse bird on soccer Saturday is the worst. [Post edited 26 Sep 2022 13:38]

| Female Pundits on 14:56 - Sep 26 with 1388 views | grabsplatter | There's a degree of tokenism insisting on having female pundits on everything, some of the female football pundits aren't great but then again if Jamie O'hara can have a career in the media anything is possible. The standard of female cricket commentators/pundits on the other hand is excellent. | | | |
| Female Pundits on 15:33 - Sep 26 with 1367 views | PatchesOHoulihan | Its a strange one for me I've never really considered the pundits as experts, just former player who I enjoyed listening to their interpretation of the game. I personally don't watch much womens football so can't relate to them. However on the other hand think that Laura Woods on talksport is great to listen - but probably because she talks fromo the perspective of a fan and not a pundit or expert | |
| This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you." |

| Female Pundits on 16:21 - Sep 26 with 1333 views | Sirjohnalot | No. Standards will vary. Female pundits are relatively new so some of their standards may be somewhat lower and the poor ones may stand out more as they are female and will play into the ‘women shouldn’t talk about sport’ stereotype. You’ll have people like Gabby Logan, Denise Lewis who are very knowledgeable and know their sport inside out but will be torn apart for any error by people searching for ways to deride them. These women are breaking through the ceiling, girls previous to this had no role models, no inspiration, it ‘wasn’t for them’. Why shouldn’t it be ? There’s loads of women just as mad about sport as men, just as knowledgeable. Having female voices, encourages more girls to love sport and realise it can be them. If they’re good enough, why not ?

Of course that's the truth but it is my contention that there are mediocre female pundits in football, rugby and cricket who are there as a kind of token to ensure their TV channel can show they are "right on" Gabby Logan is exceptional and for me by far the best presenter and link woman;well briefed and erudite on many sports ;she absolutely blitzed the cretinous Gary Lineker. Alex Scott, that squeaky voice makes my ears bleed, I always turn the volume right down when she's on. Although she ticks 3 boxes, so she's here for keeps.

I will admit she has an annoying voice but she's better than several men. Where I'll get more critical is calling them all articulate, that goes for the men too, with some of them you'd struggle to say English is their first language. I don't mind regional accents but at least use proper words and pronounce them properly too!
