Back in August I received my EpiPen's for the year today just had pharmacy delivery with another two pens I just called the pharmacy and told them there's a mistake so I offered to bring the new ones back I was told that because they'd left the pharmacy they would have to be destroyed

What an absolute waste of money I was told each pen value was 80 quid

I know with prescription medicines, once dispensed they cannot be reused. Even if returned unopened.

I sort of understand the argument for not 're-using' medicine, but there must be a way of secure packing medicine.

We have had a load of medicines that were dispensed and even when I took them to the car, had a look and tried to return them they said they'd be destroyed,

We changed Chemsts because they kept re-ordering stuff we no longer used, and the doctor was as bad, still re-issuing scripts for medicines they weren't prescribing us anymore.
We ended up putting it in writing to the chemist and the doctor. Every epi pen we had for our son cost 60 quid, he's on the junior variety though, there is massive waste and we all need to try and stop it. We have to check our dispensed meds at the counter and hand any unwanted stuff straight back, which is impossible if you have it delivered.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

You are probably right.

I can understand the no return policy but the sending out is unacceptable in the first place. There are enough admin staff in the NHS for this not to happen. Unless it's a case of more staff more mistakes.

I note you now seem to think that it might be UK wide.
