Very few jobs can see you set for life at 27 yrs of age .
Majority of county cricketers and rugby players nowhere near being “ set up” for life ,which is what footballers strive for above all else .
All the true legends of the game found other jobs or careers .
Manning is not a great ,arguably not really that good.
Russ says he loves it here . If so,his happinessshould be paramount.

In his last year of his contract he has been the complete professional and always given 100%. If he does leave it will be disappointing but understandable. I wish him well whatever he decides to do and thank him for his time here. I hope RM subs him in injury time of the West Brom game and we can give him the ovation he deserves. |  | | |

Very good player, hope he stays but I have no doubt he will have other clubs offering him more than we do.
From the article I posted a few weeks ago about his property portfolio he's a switched on guy & will do what is right for Ryan & his family (as we all would).

So he tells he tells the club he is leaving at the end of his contract and not signing a new deal. He has been up front about that. What actually can the club do about it?.
a) Put him in the reserves
b) Ostracise him like Sousa did with Britton. Cooper with Asoro.
c) Play him and hope he changes his mind
d) Tout him around vigorously and take a low ball offer. (No offers for him in the summer or January)
Swansea have the same issue with Piroe. Some fee perhaps with Piroe due to his age ( i am not sure of the rules with this). |  |

And me, he's been very good for us and to replace him will cost, so it might be better to try and negotiate a deal that suits both player and SCFC |  |
