At least whilst the current majority ownership are in charge at the club. To date Josh Marsh carries the title of ‘Head Of Football Operations’ He has been at the club for a year but now seems to be the man in the firing line. The thirty one year old who came to Swansea as a result of Julian Winter’s connections to his old club Huddersfield Town is due to be relieved of his duties this week. 0 The new guy examined, click above.

You have to ask who employed Marsh, the buck always stops at the top. They have done good things for the club but they have also made some terrible mistakes.

Josh Marsh would surely have been recommended by Julian Winter. Many fans are underwhelmed to say the least with Winter who seems a pretty anonymous presence conspicuous by poor to non existent communication skills. You would expect someone in his position to be far better in demonstrating leadership & direction

Winter was his primary supporter.

More than one poster on here has regailed us with what a business master stroke the January transfer window was. How it forced Martin to work with the Assets he had, as though it was a thoroughly planned psychological triumph. No one gets moved on for executing such ingenious plans

And so on..... Who employed Winter. This is the standard set by some, Martin pulls a trick like this and he gets hounded, the owners do it and it's applauded. The standards by a few on here are head scratching and it's been like it for a while. I will always look at things logically and I will applaud what is happening here, long time overdue and being proactive.

It's all a load of Tosh Pawell, contradiction after contradiction and god help you if you post something they don't like. I will add though, regardless of the story(as decent as it is) , this hasn't been something that has taken months to happen.....coincidental that this is happening with new guys coming on board especially one who is likely to be stumping up more money than is being reported and has bigger plans than just joining the board. There is a lot of noise.....noise AFTER the cat came out of the bag regards these investors.

The idea that some thought went into the January transfer window is laughable. The idea that they've put much thought into any transfer window is laughable. The year we were relegated, we end up with a crocked Bony and some poor Championship players. No thought there at all. It doesn't matter how much the Americans spin things, they are out of their depth and sinking fast. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

There was no money to spend in January and Martin was telling fans incoming transfers were required. Had Marsh / Martin / Winter shifted Whittaker, Patterson and Obafemi there was room for manoeuvre. A few players could have gone on loan as well but did not Abduallai for example. I suspect the US owners were not displeased that Grant did not come and declined out over pay big fees for other players. (Key, Ogbene perhaps?) They considered that it would be better for Martin to settle his differences with Patterson and Whittaker and use freshly available Walsh and use Cooper, Cullen and Darling more and ditch Stevens and Oko Flex. It was a genuine US management decisions and the correct ones. Martin did not want Whittaker back and perhaps wanted Patterson out. He was given no alternatives. This is management. They gave the harsh fact to Martin and soft soaped the fans taking the blame on themselves. Good management. Martin considered resignation perhaps but chose to fight and play the hand he was delivered. Marsh perhaps did not impress in general. He is only 31 and too young perhaps. Mark Allen was not just recruitment. He was overseeing the whole club from 16s and above and theoretically was assessing coaching teams at various levels, best practice in a number of fields, logistics, and player trading an recommending packages to Winter. The US people have a lot of experience. They have been mugged over recruitment under both Jenkins /Ledbetter and Potter. I do not blame them for being very careful. They have been sold a number of pups over their 7 years in charge.

It’s happening because it’s the end of the season. This was a search that has taken months with a view to complete at seasons end, fact. Daps, surely by now you must realise some of us know what’s happening. You don’t have to be Inspector Clouseau. Take a breather and just read what you are being told instead of pushing back against it all the time. Not a single thing I have said on here has ever not materialised and always proven to be the case. This was majority shareholder led and been in the works since late Jan/early Feb. Zero to do with the new investors… and zero to do with Martin Morgan before you start with that rubbish again… As for ‘noise AFTER the cat came out of the bag’, I said on here “the new investor’S’ (told you very clearly it was more than one) have nothing to do with Martin Morgan and said that will become abundantly clear when the names are released”. Andy is from DC United (majority owners club), Nigel is based on East Coast of the US (shock horror) Brett based on the West Coast of the US (coincidence?). When you made up that the new investor (you clearly thought it was just one) was with Martin Morgan in the box, I immediately called you out on it because I knew where both were and even told you what countries they were in that very same night…. You had to then fess up. Think about that for a second. As much as you do your best to slate our owners, they are doing a cracking job. [Post edited 1 May 2023 2:19]

Don't fall for it Doc, one has real interest and is putting in and will be putting more money in and has real plans. Two have links to the current board and will be putting very little in, some would say it's a smokescreen to dilute the others involvement. Put your seat belt on, it's going to be interesting to say the very least.

The owners appoint someone to do a job. That person is not particularly successful. Owners recognise that employee needs help or to be superseded by someone else. They act. How is that, 'passing the buck'?

Trevor Birch was one of those who recommended Winter upon his departure to Spurs.

If there was no money to spend, then why are some proclaiming it to be a managerial master stroke? If there is no money, then there are no signings, that's understandable. But then people can't proclaim it to be something it's not. There is a poster on here, who is clearly part of the board, who proclaims acts of inspired business acumen by the Owners at every chance.

I suppose it was good business management if there was no money 😂

Absolutely right. Our management has been appalling Nd the lack of foresight staggering . It took years to get us to the Prem, years of hard work and ambition, then we let it go spectacularly. That is not entitlement but simple ambition

Or possibly the owners recognised that they had appointed the wrong man - twice - and are rectifying their mistakes ? I think the above article indicates a new positive future for the club.
