Russell Martin welcome next season on 18:45 - Jun 22 by KeithHaynes
Referring to what you will do, not what others will do ðŸ‘
Ignored. hes' done little worth being adored OR hated for. The double double is all and a large part of that came from Cardiff being so utterly useless.

Are you saying Cardiff weren't useless? They'd have been relegated if Reading hadn't had a points deduction.
Tell me what Martin did that deserves anything else.
Beat a side who would have been relegated if others hadn’t been deducted points is his legacy."
The thing is, Cardiff finished 5 points above Reading, if we hadn't beaten them, they would have got at least 1 point, meaning they would have finished 6 points ahead of Reading with a better goal difference, so they wouldn't have been relegated irrespective of Reading's 6 point deduction.🤔
My reply to a similar post from Pencoed yesterday, if they had picked a point up from us last season, they would have been 6 points clear of Reading, with a better goal difference. So again, us doing the double helped put them in that position.
As for anything else he did, 🤔 can't think of a anything.

Ignore for sure. I don't do abuse and certainly won't be applauding. His post match interviews got to the point I couldn't watch them anymore. However now he's no longer here I will watch some of his post match interviews at the saints. I should find it more entertaining as it's not our club.

There's a possibility he may be in the hot seat for the away fans to applaud/boo/ignore when we travel to St Mary's. But I suspect there will be another manager in the dugout by the time they travel to us.

Gone, only interest is to see what he has to say for himself, if he had the belief in what he was trying to do at Swansea he would have finish the job of getting the team rebuilt and promoted. If you look a the two runs of good form last season promotion would be within his grasp but if he has another the abysmal run nowhere near it. Doesn't he believe in himself capable of finishing the job? Swansea sensible to not offer a renewed contract until well into the season to see ifhis tactics would work. He took the easy option, Southampton job gives him time and space which he wouldn't have at Swansea, excuses rebuilding and new tactics. At Swansea if he didn't do well in the first part of the season he wouldn't be offered a new contact and when his contract ends where would his standing in the game be?

The big majority of Swansea supporters, have always been respectable, and knowledgeable football supporters. RM will receive warm applause, as have all ex-managers when they have returned here.

I know you said returned here, but were you at Wigan for the midweek Cup game. Martinez had the most abuse I've ever seen an ex manager receive.

I was there. Massive turn out and purely to vent hate . No question about it. Those who loved Bobby felt jilted. His departure was poisonous for many and he was seen as a Judas. Wigan ain’t a place to go for a night out ,unless your stupid, so those making the long trip on a Tuesday were there for one reason and it weren’t to express gratitude for his work at Swansea .

I liked him,myself
Agreed, I knew him quite well and got on exceptionally well with him, I was bitterly disappointed in the manner he left, but have moved on since then.

No, Reading got more points than Cardiff but off field matters saw a deduction that relegated them.
Cardiff did get beaten twice by us, in purely football terms cardiff were worse than reading and it had many of their fans tearing their hair out.
