Swansea City have announced a partnership with data specialists Jamestown Analytics which they say will strengthen the club's work in the transfer market.
Jamestown Analytics is owned by Tony Bloom (pictured above), the owner of Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion – who have been lauded for their recruitment work in recent years - and a part-owner of Scottish side Heart of Midlothian.
The company has also worked with the likes of Como and Union Saint Gilloise, with Swansea claiming their new agreement will see them given "access to world-leading, industry-renowned expertise" which will increase efficiency in their "player trading model".
Swansea have not revealed the financial details of the Jamestown Analytics deal.
"This partnership is a real coup for the club," chief executive Tom Gorringe told Swansea's website.
"Jamestown are widely regarded as leaders in data-led player recruitment, and we have seen the success that many of their partner clubs have achieved over recent times. Jamestown only works with an exclusive list of clubs and we are honoured to now join that group."
Swansea appointed Ben Stevens as their new sporting director last week.
On Monday, they announced that Jay Lefevre had been promoted to a head of recruitment role under Stevens, having joined Swansea from Celtic in December 2025 as chief scout.

Wow, Tony Bloom company, Bloom is known as a top class gambler, gamblers tend to be secretive but he does seem to be very successful and successful with his sports adventures, Brighton and Hearts are punching well above their weight, I wonder if Swans can get in some top class recruits via this link up with his data company. |  |

I suspect Lefevre may be our primary contact working to narrow down a list of targets. Then they take that to Stevens to get the deals done. Be interesting to know if we've already worked with them a bit with an eye on this Summer's window or if things are more likely to take shape in January. | |

Hull have an overspend this season of £6M due to promotion bonuses. Apparently they are trying to offload Kyle Joseph to cover it. If Vipotnik was to go I wouldn't mind Kyle Joseph and cash for Tymon. [Post edited 23 Jun 19:44]

In fairness the only one of those who seems to be unilaterally popular/successful is Galbraith.
All of the others have their critics (wrongly for the most part IMO, but I see no point in denying their existence), and Wales has done very little to be held as an example of us doing things right.
At the end of the day, even a capable employee can be a tedious, self aggrandising pain in the arse who you're delighted to see the back of. | |

Samuels Smith was probably one of the better backups to Tymon we found have got in my view. Who can we get here who is happy playing 2% of minutes other than a young prospect? As others have said, we have done well recently which proves that the data approach works so it’s a great move for the club to keep that continuity. The fact we signed Yalcouye and so did Brighton suggests there may be some continuity in the way players are found. I was concerned when Worth left but considering this move by the club, I’m not concerned anymore. Brighton have had their fair share of misses mind. That is normal. | | | |

This is not me being critical. I really rate Widell and Walta. I see lots to like in Stamenic, I just don't think he's what we need in the position that we play him in. I'm just saying that not all of them have been universally popular. For example, a lot of people had already written Walta off prior to the last couple of games.
As a club we're in a really interesting position. We've got a capable squad with one or two areas needing improvement. We're likely to lose one or two of last season's big hitters, but given this announcement that might just free up funds to bring in better.
It's probably not going to be an easy division next season. Some strong clubs have come down. We're in with as good a chance as most of making the playoffs, but we can't afford many mistakes. This is a good step in the right direction. | |
