Maybe I'm missing something but Algeria losing by 2 goals drops them out of the best 3rd place finishers.. Down to 9th with Belguim, Caoe Verde and Congo still to play and possibly leapfrog them even if Algeria only lose by a goal

I hate the group stages these days. What’s the point of having a group stage and playing all these matches when the majority of teams go through regardless? The “best” third place teams going through is also an inherently unfair system when certain groups are massively weaker than others. |  |
