In case of fever, take paracetamol. If you are already taking anti-inflammatory drugs, ask your doctor’s advice.” https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/14/anti-inflammatory-drugs-may-aggrav

A. you have an underlying health problem B. they supress the immune system. Exactly the condition already identified by Chineses & Italian health services. Add to that the older you are and the more underlying problems you have the less chance you have of fighting off the desease.

So can you imagine the outcry if somebody here related to the Government tweeted that? Lol May, could, perhaps. Wheres the medical cost/benefit analysis? Would those already on that medication have more of an increased risk by stopping taking the meds than they would from the virus? Fcking hell.

I was on anti inflammatories beause of rampant arthritis but they can affect blood pressure and mine is high so I stopped taking them. Sometimes the tablets cause more problems, medicine, more tablets, it's not always the answer. These days I'd rather live with the pain. If you are determined enough, you learn to manage. Obviously that's not true of all medical problems! [Post edited 15 Mar 2020 21:32]

| Anti-inflammatories may aggravate Covid-19, France advises on 21:53 - Mar 15 with 790 views | Joe_bradshaw | Some of us are in a difficult situation. Mine is not due to anti inflammatories but due to immunosuppressants. I am well but only because I take immunosuppressive medication. Without it my immune system attacks me to an extent that I have been in the ICU in Singleton and it's been touch and go in the past. As a result my immune system is severely compromised. I'm not scared but I'm not going to invite trouble by going down the pub any time soon. My consultant tells me that I'm no more likely to get it than anyone else but if I do get it I'll be hospitalised and may be in trouble. | |
