I would have thought by now an easy to understand timetable of announcements would have been made known.

I think that a deal is inching closer. Hard line brexiteers like Cain and Cummings have left Downing Street and the last minute negotiations will secure a deal because no one wants a no deal scenario. Whatever that deal is Boris will present it as a triumph and a cave in by the EU but a deal is a deal and it will involve concessions on both sides. People will believe what they want to believe and seek evidence from biased media outlets to prove their point.

Anything other than a no deal will be surrendering, that is what Brexit fans say and most voted on that basis.

That is plain nonsense. I was prepared for a no deal but always hoped that common sense would prevail and a fair deal would be done.

Part of the problem is the Eu was using brinksmanship and it was working on Theresa Mays half soaked lot but then Bojo came in and started pushing back. Slowly the EU realised it wouldn't be a cakewalk and now a reasonable deal looks possible. It's going down to the wire though.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I know of loads of leave voters and they wanted out, not half in half out, or out with a deal with the foreigners they just wanted out.

It didn't say out with a deal on the ballot paper, anything other than out with no deal would be a sell out to the people of this country.

It reminds me of our transfer dealings during Jenkins last few seasons.
Late, poor, it got us relegated and in financial poo.
The tories have had years to get deals in place. They haven't.
I fear for the farming industry.

Bad news for the ROI they will suffer a big trade loss with the UK plus it will be hard for them to export their food products via the UK to the EU because of all the new paperwork that is involved crossing the two borders.
At least the ROI will feel good punishing the UK and will have to make up some of the shortfall to the EU budget that the UK currently pays.

It didn't say out with no deal either so please stop making things up. Most people wanted a deal and the leave campaign, amongst their other lies, constantly said a deal would be easy.

Todays talks will be vital, we only have 27 days and oh, around 9 hours left beofre we leave the transition period and we no longer have follow any EU rules.

Thats not really true is it?

The real problem is that many people recognise that the EU being such a devious undemocratic institution giving its approval to a deal with the UK would probably mean that the tories would have basically conceded national sovereignty to a foreign power to make decisions for us in addition to already virtually signing over Northern Ireland to EU governance.

Never trust a tory never trust the EU is a mantra well worth remembering.

There seems to be a marked reluctance by the EU as well as many British politicians to recognise that a sovereign state makes its own laws and runs its own country without interference from other countries courts and administrations.

What many people voted for is that the UK runs its own affairs by governments that the electorate can boot out at a general election if they wish rather than be dictated to in law or trade agreement by a foreign power that can't be booted out at a general election.

We were told we’d be leaving and that a deal would be easy to negotiate, German car makers and all that guff, most of the people I know who want out wanted out with a deal. Personally I’d rather leave with a deal that allows our exporters the opportunity to access the EU markets.

Fishing seems to be the main stumbling block, in terms of fishing’s contribution to the overall economy it’s minuscule, but it’s been promoted as a major issue and the politicians have painted themselves in to a corner.

Let’s hope common sense prevails.

Thing is as a leave voter I also know many leave voters and most want a fair deal. The above poll backs me up, not that I really trust polls.

Our vote has been dishonoured.
Boris must go for a no deal. We want out !

That is what the tweeter says and that is what should happen, that is what people I know voted for and expect - no deal.

Of course some people want no deal but not the majority. We were given a binary choice which many people disagreed with.

Cain and Cummings were power grabbers more than hard line Brexiteers. They saw a mechanism for harnessing the support of bigots and thickos and ran with it. I feel sorry for the genuine euro-sceptics who had made more informed decisions, purely for being associated with this gigantic swindle.

It may be minuscule to the overall economy but to a lot of communities it’s been a vital part of life for millennia.

To put it into context the steel industry is only 0.1% of the economy. People elsewhere could use the argument “oh it’s only a minuscule part of the economy, who gives a shit? It’s not a big issue” but we know what effect it would have on this area and places like Scunthorpe.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
