Not sure people have a fear of Wales just the welsh Assembly running it. I am sure most Welshmen love their country.

Insecurity and paranoia.
We lack confidence and frankly it is rather embarrassing.

I have lived in England for over 40 year and never ever experienced anything remotely anti Welsh ,however plenty of anglophobia over the border which is pretty evident from posts on here and PS.

Jesus loves you

This isn't a dig but when you say "we" is that the royal we? I'm certainly not lacking confidence and honestly you don't need to feel embarrassed on my behalf ,I'm more that comfortable with whom I am

Well I have received quite alot of anti welsh abuse in the 33 years I have lived in england, it used to make me very angry but now I just shrug it with a 'no wonder the english are hated' which really winds them up.

There will always be a sense of imperialism amongst some of the english as they still think they rule a third of the world and brexit has made it far worse.

Although in defence of them most of the people i have got to know in those 33 years are great people, it's as the famous saying goes 'the minority fvcking it up for the majority'

Maybe it is you Eddie .

I'm not one to take any crap but in 20+ yrs in Police and other management jobs,I have never ever been subjected to anything like cymrophobia.

Jeez, much of Liverpool was built by the Welsh with a host of Welsh street names and the major stores also Welsh linked .

On Wirral, load of Welsh links,we face the feckn country .

Welsh people get treated at specialist Wirral and Liverpool hospitals and they seem to suffer no hatred either.

My missus had her chemo on the next bed to a woman from north Wales where the treatment was much worse. Woman loved the taff and other patients. No phobia at all.

And the "we" is us being welsh bred born

Welsh street names, yep like Gwladys street which Evertonians will know.

Does the OP mean hate from outsideWales or is it suggesting we hate ourselves?

If it's a reference to those (like myself) who would ditch devolution, that's not to do with hating Wales, the Welsh or anything Cymru. It's to do with being fed up of governed by people even worse than Westminster.

How many useless politicians do we need?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Nope ,streets like Geraint Street,Rhiwlas Street,Voelas,Pengwern,Voelas,Treboth,Gwidir and Madryn t where Ringo was born, -all wonderfully mipronounced by scousers.
These street were built late 19th C by Richard Owens for Welsh workers looking to find work in Liverpool. The Welsh were accepted as were the Irish.

The city has a massive welsh /irish influence so sorry I aint have that anti welsh crap from anyone.

The Welsh ,(including myself),need to look at the country objectively and not recoil automatically and blame the English .We cannot tolerate any criticism of anything or anyone Welsh and that shows an inferiority complex. It's why we are seen by many outsiders as somewhat diffident ,shy and reticient. Not all obviouslyi;Iam the least shy person imaginable but as a country ,we 're as strong as our weakest link.

BTW,I mean no offence to anyone;if people take the ump, then that's their issue.

Fireboy lives in Lancs and in towns like Wigan,Warrington,St Helens ,they can be 🚩 but they are to all "outsiders".

Most people love the country they were born.
I find that most people who knock wales,
Have moved away from wales and have been anglicized
And who politics lean to the right.
They have become little englanders ,

Pitiful. And very wrong.Everyone is not proud nor necesarily loved the land they were born in, Might as well be in leg irons.

Perfect example of what I was alluding to.

Moved away, seen life from outside the goldfish bowl

Born Free,Classless and not shackled by the past, family ,school or birthplace.

Moving back then soon Eddie ?unless you want to put up with the English system and have your kids live and be educated in England. If you love Swansea that much ,you would never have moved away no matter what, because that is true love-innit..

Love yourself not a country

Right then I will say this only once.

There is a reason I NEVER reply to any of your posts, it's because I dont like you, i have met you only the once and that was enough to make my mind up.

You do not know me so you dont know how I think and how I behave, I do not and I wont even try to explain my reasons for being proud to be welsh and working class, so I kindly ask that you take back what you said about me and I ask that you never post anything about me again as I've said above you do not know me.

Goodnight and farewell.

Nobody should be in any way beholden to the place they were born.People are born in a place they have no choice in and if they want to improve themselves they should feel free to go anywhere.

Nobody should give unfettered love to the country they were born. I wouldnt be too proud having been born a German pre 1939.

To stigmatise or judge anyone by class,by dint of their place of birth, family, school, town ,religion is tantamount to being in shackles.

Why is it "working class" profess to be proud to be such but live lives utterly removed from what many see that class to be.I don't hear "middle class" or upper class expressing their love for their "class". It's possibly as they feel more self confident in themselves and do not have inferiority complexes. Sadly, the better public schools give that and that's why so many are prevalent in public life. Our state schools have let down generations of our kids leaving them with a massive inferiority complex when dealing with the "posh" or anyone with money.

Our whole social structure needs smashing and rebuilding if we are going to have a fairer society which we desperately need.

It's funny how those who take pride in telling us how we should live and think, are those that moved to the shite side of the bridge. Normally massive hypocrites, who go crying foul when you challenge them on their nonsense.

I pity them myself.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Is this what we are about.
Is this it?

We classify each other,we brand each other from birth. Worse,we class ourselves and are "proud" to do so. .Straightjacket.

We then see it a treachery when unfettered love is not portrayed to the land of your birth.

The OP ,sadly, proves to me why my despondent view is justified.

Finally, nobody on here has the guts to say it as it is or hhow they really feel if the subject might be contentious because it leads to bitter exchanges-like here.

Ive worked in Lancashire and the people are not the type to stereotype Welsh people.Wales to them is north Wales where they have caravans or go for day trips or walks up Snowdon. English people have accepted untold number of peoples with no problem. Not the same with some welsh villages where if you are seen as an outsider, especially English, you are a threat to the area and the language.

Ive heard and read untold Anglophobia which is rampant on here and PS,as this thread shows.

BTW, At the end of the 19th C ,Liverpool had a population 20% Welsh and it provided a home and work for generations and there were no religious/sectarian riot either.

Quite sharp for you that, fair play.... 😎

The UK has lost bigly, as Donald J Trump might say.

America have got rid of their error from 2016.
We are stuck with Brexit for a little while. But the end game is identical.

Both are errors of historic significance.
And historic ignorance.

Now see, a thread about hate and it just caused more arguments.

I used to say I was proud to be Welsh AND British but I stopped, fairly recently actually. National pride, Patriotism, they're not for me anymore.

I try to be a good person, a good husband and good dad and I hope that's good enough.

All that may change again, obviously.

Stay safe everyone, goodnight.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Utterly provocative and it got its just desserts.

There are good and bad everywhere

Same.

Spent a lot of time in Bristol over the years. Great people. Got family scattered all over the South East and I go up there regularly (plague depending).

No doubt there's the odd dickhead about but then again we've got the likes of trampie so we're hardly innocent ourselves.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Going off at a tangent, some countries also suffer from a phobia, classically France,a country I love to death.Classy, stunningly beautiful ,unspolit villages, nice weather (in some places),fantastic food ,un believable wine and a good social structure (Outside Paris), culture, beautiful woman and the language a love. And they play Rugby BUT a country number 1 on most Brits hate list even though it is visited more than any other, outside Spain.

It's crap.

Vive la belle France
