Danny Ward’s world class performance as Wales earn a point in Baku 12th Jun 2021 16:22
The hype before the game was very positive towards this years Wales Euro ambitions, but the intensity of the day, the near thirty degrees heat match seemed to drain Wales for this 5pm local time kick off. The favourites as expected were Switzerland, and their wealth of quick, strong and high level performing players in their starting eleven was evident. To see so many Wales followers in Baku, estimated around 700, all together for once, with flags from all over the country must have inspired the hearts and encouraged the minds of everyone present. 1

Wales get away with what looked like a clear foul in the penalty box. The gulf in quality is humongous.

Wales have to get the ball to James and start playing some sort of cohirent football. Not one Moore lay off has come to a red shirt. As a counterattacking team they need to take risks on Swiss corners not slow things down. Swiss corner breaks down bang immeadite counter attack.

We need a more confident manager and mindset.

Way too much on the backfoot, gifting them too much space and respect.

All a bit meek like some on here, and as portrayed by some on radio/welsh telly.

They should OF given Cooper the Gig (;-) for the tournament. Someone who sets out to win, play boldly and win the whole thing, outright.

The emphasis on Bale is sickening . It's like he is the only player we have. He has doing nothing and Im afraid,a Ive said before, well past his best.

We have little quality.End of.

Spot on. Any football being played is by the Swiss. Wales can’t string 2 passes together - quite reminiscent of what I’ve been watching all last season! Wales offer very little.

His is our talisman and rightly so. The delta of his psychological effect alone is worth a few points across a tournament.

We have the talent, it just needs channeling into a winning mindset.

There is no way we should have been sitting so deep from the "offset" (;-). Meek and unacceptably way too submissive.

It's a little switch which needs switching on. We just need the right coach to flick that switch.

I read the saccharine crap off Builty about proud to be Welsh but after that ,then what.
So you're proud of where you were born.Big deal.Meaningless drivel.
Being proud does not make this dross any better.
2016 was a freak.Get over it. Dont live everyday with it filling up your soul.

Ramsey is utterly anonymous a is Bale.

James looks stranded.

Nobody else looks like international class.

Connor's defending for that goal was embarrassing

That is the truth ad we need to honest with ourselves.

I do actually wish we hadnt qualified so we wouldnt have to watch this ;same with the play offs,-the thread that was removed as it upset someone enough to want to stove my head in. I stand by every word.

The coverage Wales gets is patronising and stereotyped, evidenced by Elis/Ellis James. Welsh and humble"/Fark that.

Get out and start the BBQ,invite a friend, wash your trainers, mow the lawn, groom the dog and deflea the cat but don't waste your life building up hopes like this.

Wales do not react well to high expectations. Having reached the semi-finals last time, you could bet your life they would flop today. Best say nothing and expect nothing.

There's flopping and then there's whatever this is today. 1-0 down and Welsh players are walking around the pitch. This is what happens when you fill your Welsh national team with players only there because they couldn't get close to playing for England. team. A lot of them don't really care.

As Mark Hughes said, it's a four week stag do for a lot of them.

Their power players are exceptionally strong, esp in these dying moments.

Imagine if we'd had the foresight to sign up the Ayews.

Why sit back and invite constant pressure? Never understood it. It normally does not end well. Keep playing ffs!

Our strength of character is as strong as the Swans under Cooper.

Bouncebackability, as epitomised by Bale in the 95th minute driving down the wing, and Moore's heroics to the end.

This feels like a win. Onwards and upwards is our mantra.

They should fly-in Coops to deliver some rousing, clever, motivational speak to BELIEVE.

It's mainly a mindset thing with Wales.

Yet for the Swans under Coops we are massively confident in our collective ability to defend, with structure and intent. We are more than confident to cede possession when we're ahead, because of this. It's a source of strength not weakness as many of our less informed followers think.

It's not difficult to understand yet many bang on about it ad infinitum.

Let's hope our fans at the Liberty get this. And give our young guns the respect they have earned.
