The favourites as expected were Switzerland, and their wealth of quick, strong and high level performing players in their starting eleven was evident. To see so many Wales followers in Baku, estimated around 700, all together for once, with flags from all over the country must have inspired the hearts and encouraged the minds of everyone present. 1

Looked tired after 15 minutes, much like Turkey did last night. Some comical finishing away from a comfortable defeat.

It was midfield where the problem lies. Morrell is a battler but not sharp enough despite his assist. Wales lost a lot of 50:50 and need neo to come in with his tennacity.

So you're proud of where you were born.Big deal.Meaningless drivel. Being proud does not make this dross any better. 2016 was a freak.Get over it. Dont live everyday with it filling up your soul. Ramsey is utterly anonymous a is Bale. James looks stranded. Nobody else looks like international class. Connor's defending for that goal was embarrassing That is the truth ad we need to honest with ourselves. I do actually wish we hadnt qualified so we wouldnt have to watch this ;same with the play offs,-the thread that was removed as it upset someone enough to want to stove my head in. I stand by every word. The coverage Wales gets is patronising and stereotyped, evidenced by Elis/Ellis James. Welsh and humble"/Fark that. Get out and start the BBQ,invite a friend, wash your trainers, mow the lawn, groom the dog and deflea the cat but don't waste your life building up hopes like this. |

| Wales v Switzerland : Euros Group A : Matchday Thread TEAMS on 16:06 - Jun 12 by AndyCole | It's mainly a mindset thing with Wales. Yet for the Swans under Coops we are massively confident in our collective ability to defend, with structure and intent. We are more than confident to cede possession when we're ahead, because of this. It's a source of strength not weakness as many of our less informed followers think. It's not difficult to understand yet many bang on about it ad infinitum. Let's hope our fans at the Liberty get this. And give our young guns the respect they have earned. |

I know Moore got the goal, had a decent effort saved and cleared a few corners but in 30 degrees heat we needed to be playing to feet and holding onto the ball. They were waltzing through our midfield which looked pedestrian, running at the centre halves and should have won comfortably. I think we should have started with an extra man in midfield with Ramsey as a false nine. Moore could have been brought on later in the game if we were after a goal.

I'd have been tempted to match them up with wingbacks, maybe try to stop some crosses and have the extra man ready in defence. It was 2v2 for much of the game and Embolo figured out he had the pace to go past both Mepham and Rodon in the second half. But based on all our warmups going with that split striker/false 9 system looked like madness as it simply hasn't been working. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I thought we were going to go to wing backs with a substitution for the reasons you stated. The issue I had with starting Moore is that it encouraged a hoof ball up to him and asks a lot of him to find people not close to him whilst outnumbered or required midfielders to bust a gut to link with him which in that heat generally didn’t happen. Ramsey and Joe haven’t had a lot of games, the midfield looked one paced and they found it easy to play through it. Having an engine room without much of an engine was a big risk but Page would have been annihilated if he had left either out and we had lost.

HO OHL, lets take a couple of points in order. Ramsey looks like he needs to get upto speed. For the love of god , Dan James is a limited footballer who is best employed hugging touchline on halfway. International class? Gk made some great saves you are a bit harsh there. OK now the big one, Conor was caught in front it happens and when it does theres nothing you can do, mistake sometimes its a gamble but yeh. Palmed off for free headder. We can make some changes Ampadou in to free up back tracking, and go for it. Elis james, watched a minute of that shite and turned off. As for TV coverage give up years ago. BBQ was redundant today went for a prawn salad and some Belgium nectar, Trippel Karmliet and some 1664 to flush. I feel your pain but for Flucks sake we didnt lose and Page can obviously see that Bale doesnt like to work back for 90 so, get Ampadou in and just set uo to go for it. In for a penny etc. And wht FFS do you wash trainers?

Took the games best player off after we equalised, flipping idiot, Mepham not good enough and neither is Morrell, Ramsey was typically Ramsey and bale, was somewhere on a golf course. Should never have taken James off after we equalised, stupid decision [Post edited 13 Jun 2021 14:52]

| Wales v Switzerland : Euros Group A : Matchday Thread TEAMS on 23:19 - Jun 12 with 556 views | majorraglan | Very disappointed with the performance today. We started brightly and had a few chances in the first 10 minutes, but after that we just seemed happy to defend allowing them to attack continuously and had it not been for Ward we’d have been behind. When we managed to get the ball back we just hoofed it out of defence, gave them the ball back so they could start all over again. We needed to retain possession even if it was triangles, pass and go etc just to get a foot hold in the game. Moore is a decent argent man, but he can’t do it on his own with no support. Dan James was a threat, but he was often a passenger and was not getting the ball. Moore took his chance superbly and saved our bacon. If was Swiss I’d be spewing after that, they had enough of the game to have taken all 3 points and to be honest they deserved them. Turkey won’t be afraid of facing us, to be honest we need to back our ideas up. A lucky, undeserved point. | | | |

Only Sterling not born in England (Jamaica) Only de Jong not born in the Netherlands (Switzerland) Couldn’t be bothered to look at the French squad. The sad thing is imperialists wave a union jack and swoon over maps where a third of the globe was coloured pink but have a problem with the consequences.

Quite a Swans type performance with much hoofing, much poor passing, much standing still. (We generally defend better.)
