| AI interviews 19:53 - Oct 1 with 1264 views | Catullus | I applied for a job yesterday and i had to go online to do an interview. I was expecting a zoom face to face but instead a link was sent to me for an artifical intelligence site where I was asked questions and my answers generated a profile which was sent to the Company involved. It was new one on me, I've done a profiling interbiew before but the answers were assessed by humans.. Anyone else done one of these? Is this going to be the common thing from now on? Anyway, these are my results, Insight 1 You take a pragmatic approach to your work and prefer to take the ‘road well-travelled’ over new or different approaches. Living by a routine is your preferred approach over new ways of doing things. Insight 2 You are usually goal orientated and enjoy organising and planning your approach to achieve them. You work consistently and mostly methodically, considering your choices and decisions carefully. People would describe you as dependable. Insight 3 You trust your counsel and are not someone who makes rash decisions. You consider options carefully. Your quieter disposition may be seen as lack of enthusiasm, but this isn’t necessarily the case. You just show your excitement differently and don’t like to be the centre of attention. Insight 4 You can hold your own with most people in most situations. You are less inclined to trust the opinions of others preferring to rely on your information gathering and critical thinking. Insight 5 It makes you feel good to be sought out for your counsel or a sympathetic ear. You are tuned-in to how others feel, and you also value being able to share your problems with others. Insight 6 You are trusted by those who know you to always do the right thing and put the needs of others before your own. You are modest about your achievements and feel that rewards come to those who earn them rather than based on any entitlement. Those results apparently generated by AI. Does anybody find that worrying? We are being judged by computers, our future employment in the hands of a computer but the program, originally written by a human is a learning program, how can we trust it? What if the original program was flawed? | |

Mind blowing My lad was interviewing for managers last week and what he told me as regards the content blew me away-or I lost interest. Or both,I forget now. [Post edited 1 Oct 2021 19:57]

If you dont get the job a load of nonsense. 😀 If the job is looking for a certain personality trait and you think it has assessed you correctly, could rightly save you landing a job you would not have been suited to or matching you with a perfect job. If a job has too many applicants it can be effective to reduce the number of applications, but would like to think the last / best 8 or so candidates have an interview with a human being, ideally face to face in person, but so many jobs now filled through zoom interviews. Good luck anyway.

Matrix scoring, it’s a one day course to at least understand it.

On the page before I clicked the link to start it said the point of the AI was to judge everyone equally from the beginning. It doesn't ask if you are man , woman or any other gender. It doesn't ask about colour, nationality or religious beliefs. However, surely it only works if you answers are absolutely honest. It cannot judge your character and with the right schooling surely you can say what you need to so you get a favourable outcome? If my application goes further I still expect a face to face interview but will this AI thing take over one day?

Honesty is something that only the individual knows.

I was honest and to be fair the 'insights' are pretty damn close but I'm still not sure about being judged by AI!

It’s based on the score for each answer, decided by three interviewers In mist situations. Eachcandidate is asked the same question, the ability of the candidate to introduce their own agenda in to their answer is the key.

It will reduce nepotism and favouritism and having to dress up smartly for first impressions and all that superficial nonsense

That is the upside but the downside is the candidate is unable to make their case in the traditional manner, what if they are the best candidate but due to an unfortunate childhood their schooling was wrecked, the computer might just look at the numbers and the company would miss out on the best person for the job.

Recruitment is at best a guess. The best method would be , to get the names of the candidates on a piece of paper, qualifications and experience being similar, close your eyes and stick a pin in the names

Very little weight should be given to qualifications.

I think I would prefer a qualified surgeon for a medical procedure and a qualified plumber for a water leak.
