He was interviewed on GMB this morning and said there are five armed police officers outside waiting to guard me when I leave because of the death threats he'd received.

What on earth is happening in this country ?

Right wing nutjobs, left wing nutjobs, leave the politics out of it Britian/World is full of nutjobs you see them on the streets every day. The punishment should be a lot stiffer, we have gone soft and too "politically" correct.

This is Johnsons corrupt Brexit England.

He has emboldened the idiots, the racists, and the inadequate.
It mirrors the US under Trump and the thug like 06/01 attack.

His motives are pure personal greed.
He deliberately and knowingly endangered Keir Starmer.
He has to go.

The good people of the US threw Trump out, and the uk must remove Johnson.

In fairness London is undoubtedly one of the safest big cities in the world. Apart from that bit where Albert square is. The death rate there is higher than the Somme.

I have a theory that Dot Cotton is the most prolific serial killer in this nations history. How many people have died in her arms or with her nursing them? I have my suspicions over Jessica Fletcher too, everywhere she goes someone gets murdered and she always pins the blame on someone else. Hiding in plain sight the pair of them.

What you saw the other evening with Starmer and Lammy was a photo opportunity, deliberately staged. Be in no doubt whatsoever about that.

We were deployed a few times to the Westminster environs years ago in response to heightened threat levels. By-the-by, that mostly involved swaggering around winking at the prettier interns...😊 But what I can tell you is that there is a guarded passageway, a tunnel, completely inaccessible to the public, that links Portcullis House to Parliament with cars permanently on stand-by to carry Ministers and Members to wherever they have to go.

Starmer and Lammy were in the middle of that protest because they chose deliberately to put themselves there. It was a calculation, quite a good one as subsequent publicity has shown.

It’s a game, Jim. All of it.

I am not convinced it was staged to be honest, if it was it’s a poor state of affairs because they’re putting the cops in danger as well as themselves. I think the incident started near the Embankment after Starmer and Lammy had gone to a meeting at or near New Scotland Yard, so not sure if the Portcullis House was an option when it kicked off, but maybe a car would have been a better bet.

All for people having the freedom to protest, but some of the people on the video footage are well out of order, surprised they have the time to be almost full time protestors.

Westminster has been something of a magnet for kook and crank protesters for a few years now. They’re an ever-present. High profile politicos, Starmer very much included, duck them as a matter of course. I’m in no doubt running the gauntlet the other night was entirely performative.

It’s a shame Warwick isn’t around any more because he would understand everything I’m pointing out. About fifteen years or so ago the American cognitive linguist George Lakoff published ‘The Political Mind.’ Now if you’ve read and understood that then an awful lot of tumblers begin to click into place. He talks a lot about about ‘framing’ issues, through language and actions conducive to your aims. How impressions are formed and reinforced in the public consciousness.

It’s tremendously cynical and hugely effective.

Yes but he doesn't get anywhere near the protection of the PM ( rightly so).
Did he walk into the area where the mob were? From the reports they spotted him from their protest.
Did he put himself there deliberately? That is certainly questionable as he is a politician and I don't trust any of them ( except former MP Sian James) but Starmer is one of the more decent ones.

Yes it’s a bloody fortuitous happenstance there was a film crew on hand and aerial drone wide angle footage available to capture the incident otherwise none of us would have known about it.

All I will say is judge the effect: Keir Starmer was suddenly transformed by the media from somebody with all the outward charisma of a waffle-stitch cardigan to somebody marching to the sound of thunder, a man riding the lightning...

By the way, I bumped into Sian in a garage recently, she’s looking well.

Mate everything they do in public, and I mean everything is so meticulously stage managed. Everywhere they go, everything they say or do is planned and briefed in advance.
