| Litter 18:24 - Apr 4 with 1908 views | britferry | Companies in Wales will now face fines if its their rubbish that has to be cleaned up. Will this mean firms like McDonalds will now use plain packaging? On a Saturday night in town, I can see as much rubbish from Chick-o-land or any other independent on Wind St as I do McDs, but I'm sure its only one the Welsh government will be charging for the clean up. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-60968570 | |

Oh yes, I concur but if McDs gets fined coz somebody chucked their used hamburger packaging on the floor in Castle Sq but Chick-o-Land, who has plain packaging, won't get fined for the same offence. And what if somebody chucks a can of Cocoa Cola, then who gets fined?

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

| Litter on 23:11 - Apr 4 with 1707 views | Jack123 | What t do they mean by this announcement? I'm guessing that if the packaging ends up in a black bag, as is non-recyclable, then the company gets fined, surely they can't mean fining a company for somebody not disposing of their litter correctly? We have a Maccy now and again delivered, and what's left, nearly all of it, goes into recycling, hardly anything goes into black bags. Perhaps the Welsh Government before making silly statements like this need to get a few more recycling bins on the streets. | |

It will be nice to see them get fined for their junk mail, but obviously the useless , irrelevant WAG will turn a blind eye to the waste paper littering the street their propaganda boys produce. Because too people have little or no pride in where they live. Dogs are banned from beaches next month , yet scrots can light bonfires , have barbecues and leave literally tonnes of rubbish and no one bats an eye lid .

Because people are to lazy to put it in the bin , sad but true. I live near a large school, and the pupils are the worst offenders of dumping their litter, even though they went on strike a while back to highlight climate change.

Yes…it’s really a crap hole up there. Down here it’s a different story in Neath. What an effing mess after the recycle is picked up. It’s seems the councils idea of recycling is to chuck it around the pavements. Absolute a holes wasting money on recycle vehicles, bins etc. I noticed in Kidwelly they still use bags…..and the place is clean after bin days. And before anyone says about animals ripping bags open etc….. just go to Kidwelly and Carmarthen where there are more wild animals than in Neath. Then again……lol

Yep, same here where I live in NPC, we need a garbage wagon to follow the garbage wagon, just to pick up the garbage tipped on the road by the first garbage wagon.

| Litter on 22:53 - Apr 5 with 1471 views | majorraglan | I’ve got no issue with tackling litter louts or businesses that create litter, but dealing with the drunks who litter in Wind Street late at night is going to require council staff to work in to the evening and I can’t see that happening. Got no issue with sorting out fly tippers either, but part of the issue has to be the difficulty or costs in disposing of litter. | | | |

| Litter on 11:18 - Apr 6 with 1403 views | JACKMANANDBOY | I despair at the lack of systemic thinking that goes on at the Senedd. -Any additional costs for businesses will get pushed back to the customer. -No attempt to change the behaviour of the litter louts, why not use cctv in high litter areas. -We don't learn from others, for example, other countries have made progress with deposits and refunds on cans and bottles. It is the same with holiday homes and second homes their tax proposals can be avoided quite easily. | |

Well done Jim, plastic litter is my pet hate, there is so much of it dumped on our beaches, coastal paths and road sides, you could fill a bin liner bag every time you go out for a 2 hour walk.

I work in Swansea town centre and around Castle square and down the Kingsway it's terrible. When it was windy last week there was cardboard blowing all down the Kingsway, A cardboard box blew into me and when checked it, it was addressed to the YMCA on the Kingsway. Outside Maccy D there is always loads of rubbish. Go into a multi story car park and people seem to think it's ok to empty their cars of rubbish and leave it on the floor, I've seen them do it. Outside maccy D its kids but in a car park it's mostly adults clearing their cars.
