Surely ,it's time and there must be some of you fine people interested and enthralled by the greatest test for man and machine on the planet, bar none.
Personally,if I were John McGuiness,I d be looking at maybe calling it a day after a 100 starts. He's done it all and a legend;a thoroughly nice guy a Morecambe lad to the core. Stay safe .

Just for a second I thought you wanted to ban it.
Many do flash. The riders accept the risk but it's upsetting for fans like us when they fall foul of this most demanding event. When people call the likes of footballers "brave",it makes me choke comparing them with these riders. What makes it unique is that you can ride the course then a few days later see where rode 4 times faster. The roads are not F1 smooth and the ruts, bumps and grids are there for all to see.

One of the causes of rising fatalities is that Bikes are getting faster - technology doesn't stand still and in the pursuit of glory the envelope is being continually pushed . Technology also brings in greater safety but when you consider the thinking/reaction time needed on what are ordinary roads the margins for error are becoming increasingly smaller . When you are travelling at 60 yards a second you only have to be a miniscule amount out and if you are , you are facing a huge problem . I stand back like others in awe of these guys with the utmost respect .I don't want it banned as that would be a stain on the past achievements and glory of people like Mike Hailwood or John Mc Guinness and Joey Dunlop and others who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of speed. The senior TT Trophy has the God Mercury striding a motorbike wheel , Very fitting when you consider that Mercury was the messenger of the Gods - To me these guys are up there in the pantheon of the greatest sportsmen on the planet. You are not facing an opponent across the net or an opposition wing back you are taking on fate itself that's the difference and one mistake doesn't cost you a set or a goal it can cost you your life .

Im not sure the bikes can get that much faster .The obstacles are of course what kill more than the actual speeds.
Yes 2 miles a minute . That' s just over 18 minutes to do 37 miles . Insane when you think there are walls , trees , houses fences on the side of the road . These guys are doing what very few in the world are capable of doing.

Watched the highlights of the Superstock TT race on ITV 4 earlier .
Ride a Bandit myself , carefully I add , but watching these competitors racing is an eyeopener and why do some of these spectators put themselves at risk of an accident .
Thrill seekers I realise , it must be such a buzz though . Stay safe guys .
