If Bennett stays Martin goes ad vice versa. He has been given a cheque of a few hundred thousands. It is the equivalent of paying his wages at another club. He can sign for Reading or Cardiff on a free.

Whether he is given a lump sum or a monthly wages is neither here no there. A lump sum would be cheaper and it is good to have a clean break just like buying a new washing machine on tick.
Bennett would demand that he does not lose money as he is contracted. He agent would discuss with the club that elsewhere he could only get say £8k a week so Swansea will need to pay i him £12k a week. This means a total bill of £600k. They may have agreed £400k -500k up front as a compromise. | |

Sadly he was a no nonsense centre half who was not afraid to clear the ball when necessary. Under Martin he was played as a right back and told to play needless passes to other defenders and or goal keeper. | |
