Martyn Margetson really liked him and wasn't worried if we weren't able to get Woodman back. It's a shame we were so set on glamorous loan players as short-term solutions under Cooper. We may not have reached the playoffs but we'd be in a stronger position now. Our "kids" getting their breakthroughs (or still waiting) are already 21-23. | | | |

Agreed but his mistakes were costing us and had he been left there his development would have gone backwards at a rate of knots. He was kept out of the side by Hamer and he wasn’t too hot himself.
Woodman did a job for us but because he was on loan he would never get the recognition he deserved from some quarters.
As for Fisher, he may well come good which is what we need for both of them to be pushing for the jersey | | | |

I watched them a couple of times and he was there best player.
Plus he had lots of good write ups. I think you could of put Dino Zoff in his prime in goal for them and they still would of got battered most games.

He'd make a mistake and then get dropped for 20 games. What sort of consistency is he meant to build like that?

Young players make mistakes. It's how they learn. It's the tragedy of goalkeepers that the mistakes they make tend to end up in goals conceded, but they need to play games regardless.
The only mistake Benda made that I can remember was directly attributable to him rather than our Kamikaze defensive passing style was I believe a soft shot that squirmed through against, I wanna say Preston?
Otherwise he had the misfortune to be the initial Guinea Pig in the RM Revolution and shouldered some blame for something that never worked. | |
