A real midfield general would secure this side promotion.

We thought that in January under Cooper. Weren’t we 3rd or something? Desperate for a striker, yet blew the budget on X5 nonsense players that did little to the side, other than severely unbalance it. Maybe lessons have been learned, we shall see.

I'm prepared to give them some form of benefit (maybe not much) due to injuries, but you're right, January is make or break. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The last season under Cooper, in January we looked a decent bet for a top 2 finish. A bit of investment could have seen us promoted automatically. Instead, we ended up with nothing of the sort. If they couldn't see the need at that point, then I would doubt that they ever will.

Investment is a good excuse for a manager not being up to a full season. Investment or not doesn’t excuse the pitiful effort at Wembley.

No, but them being far better than us does, hence why they finished above us. If you were annoyed by Cooper losing to a better side with a player sent off to compound things was “pitiful” then I trust you have made the same comments regarding Russell Martin’s efforts the majority of his tenure despite heavy investment? Or maybe not…
