When Swansea City’s owners ‘invested’ into the club in 2016, they claimed that they were going to “take the club to the next level” and that they would be “great stewards to the club” overseeing its growth and development. This filled with me with excitement because we were already an established and stable Premier League club & having extra funding by these ‘investors’ would only help the club grow bigger and to achieve heights we could only have dreamed of.
7 years on, and we’re a mid-table championship club. We sell our top players every year without adequately replacing them, and our fanbase is constantly fed false promises by our owners who clearly don’t have the intentions that they claimed to have when they arrived.
As much as I don’t want to admit this, it’s clear that our owners don’t care about the club. The reality is that they are an American consortium consisting of 20-30 investors who’s sole intentions are to make whatever they can out of the club whilst putting in the bare minimum amount of money possible. They may make out in interviews and the media that they’re “extremely passionate” about the club, but if they really cared about the club, then the executives wouldn’t run the business in such a neglectful and unambitious way.
It’s all well and good for these owners, because when their time is done here they don’t even have to think of our club ever again let alone step foot in Swansea. Meanwhile, us fans will still be here dealing with the aftermath of what they’ve done. Unfortunately, we’re not alone with this either, and there have been even worse situations where fans have had their club almost wiped off of the map by neglectful owners who were only thinking of their own gain.
I know to some of you this may come across as petty or pathetic, but at the end of the day this is the football club I’ve grown up supporting, and it hurts me to see these business people take advantage of the club I love.
I just really hope things change. Preferably, I hope these owners of ours sell up to people who actually care and want to make a difference. We can only dream I suppose… 🦢 #yanksout #swanseacity #sacktheboard

No they didn’t. Huw said it as reasons for them selling and they were talking in the context of financials. Meaning the Americans would be able to source external funds where as they had to loan from banks. They showed that this season with the loan note from Jake.

This would be in relation to not running it into the ground right? Maintaining the ethos of the club which is to live within its means and bring through youth. Isn’t that what they are doing?
I feel the reaction here is people finally venting over the last 18 months, where previously they had been pretending all is great.. now using the owners as an excuse to redirect that frustration.
All the people that seem to be complaining the most have been falling over themselves to make excuses like “we were crap before so we are doing fine now” yet aren’t using that same excuse for this? |  |

The SCST have £900k in a non interest account.
The Convertible loan note pays allegedly 5%. They seem on jolly good terms these days judging by the podcast i listened to.
They also have £500k due to be given them from other owners?. I recommend this money is put in the Convertible loan note in their name along with another £500k. This will give the SCST an annual return of £50k. The club has £1m extra to spend in the Summer.
Just a thought. Positive and useful. Fans have zero imagination and just want to march up and down with a placard and stop some of the wild boys trashing some litter bins en route. |  |

The fans who think we have a god given right to be in the Premier League and expect others to pay for the privilege while doing little but moaning ( I include the Trust) believe there is a long line of £billionaires waiting to hand over fortunes for a part ownership of a not very well supported club.
Perhaps they aren’t old enough or have poor memories of the gut wrenching hurt of re-election, of Petty or even the ignominy of our fall after the Toshack era. | |

I think there's a bit of over reaction regarding the transfer window, OK, we haven't added anyone to our squad, disappointing yes, but it's pointed out every January that the true cost of players get inflated, or clubs wait for contracts to run out at the end of the season rather than paying stupid fees, we have 2 players who's contracts are up at the end of the season, unless I've mist it I've not seen anything saying that a new contract couldn't be agreed, so to go and spend money for a replacement when the money could be used to offer an approved contract, if it doesn't come off then there will be more options come the summer.
Apart from Benda and the odd camoe from oko flex we have the same squad since the middle of November when Obafemi threw a strop, we will be bolstered ( hopefully ) with Morgan Whittaker returning, we obviously need a goalkeeper as I understand it we can still get someone in, so I agree yesterday was disappointing, but my alarm clock still woke me up for work this morning, life goes on, in through the nose, exhale slowly through the mouth. |  | | |

I think the theory of them not spending a dime in preparation of selling is quite believable.

It seems lazy scouting to me, allegedly chasing players other clubs are after. I know it's not as easy as it sounds but there must be hidden gems out in Europe or the lower leagues. | | | |
