Now here's the thing, the Senedd says they won't raise taxes because we are in a cost of living crisis and they cannot ask people to pay more. It's a funny old game, politics though. I say that because they always say Westminster should give us more money. The only way for that to happen is for Westminster to raise taxes and if they did, what do we reckon Drakeford would say?
I reckon he'd criticise the goverment for raising taxes and no matter how much extra came Wales way, it still wouldn't be enough.
For the record, if the Senedd raised taxes in Wales, lets say by what Plaid suggest, I'd be OK with it, if the money was spent wisely.

Thing is, Plaid have a little resurgence here and there but they never sustain it, they never do better than shabby little deals to get a foot in the door, the door that usually slams shut at the next election.

Before asking the Welsh public to pay more in tax perhaps they should look at what they can claim in expenses.
I’m not intelligent enough to post the link but I believe the Senedd members can claim expenses for travel, habitation if away from home etc.
In my view they should be paid a wage and claim nothing. Try to make ends meet like us the voting public and I’m pretty sure policy ideology would take a massive turnabout. | | | |
