| Jenkins & Martin / Consortium Takeover 10:36 - Feb 26 with 5636 views | sw02sea | I’ve raised this issue a few times over the years, so I’m well used to what will be the usual abuse thrown at the suggestion. “Greedy barstewards, sold the Trust down the river, bla Dee bla. “ So, a simple question. Are you peed off enough with the present situation ie. The Yanks, Winter, Martin and his never ending back room staff, plus the “Dominating” walking football style, to go “Back to the future” if the aforementioned duo + a consortium came up with a plan? (Better than PLAN A ? 😗) | | | | |

After 7 years of these owners I would prefer Morgan and son, Jenkins and a consortium. Absolutely. Carry on the way we are going and I really fear for our future.

Their net worth would make it impossible. On their own that is *

| Jenkins & Martin / Consortium Takeover on 12:41 - Feb 26 with 3063 views | 1983 | Can't see those coming back anytime soon football is forever changing even since they left, they took on the club and fair do's to them for doing that, they put in their own cash along with a few others but the seeds they planted created a big fat money tree which in all honesty they didn't expect but then greed took over...the rest is history | |

Say for arguments sake someone did take over. What would people expect them to do exactly? FFP would prevent the kind of spending that people are whining for, even if Morgan could afford it, which he clearly couldn't if that £40m figure is true. The best we could hope for is ownership that tries to maintain the club financially, which we already have.

Yes needs to be sustainable would be nice to have owners who give the impression they care about the club. The current owners keep us ticking along but have little to no affinity for us really. If they could sell they would.

They turned down over 400M from one of the big boys to buy them out. Think the value has since grown again. He has no interest in the Swans presently.

Surely when a club hasn't enough money to make tough decisions regarding their manager and are not seen within 3,000 miles of us, that isn't what you class as well run ? I know there has been much debate on that recently

Who says that they don't have enough money to sack Martin? As far as I'm aware that's basically a total assumption that everyone is treating as fact. Given that they were apparently prepared to pay Karlan Grant £20k a week until the end of the season and now we don't have to it seems that the decision to stick with Russy at present is far from financial. More likely they just can't agree on what to do. Silverstein is said to rate him highly. The distance thing is almost totally irrelevant. Winter is paid to run the club from day to day. Whether the owners are physically present or on the end of a phone makes little difference.

I think it’s more of a case of not wanting to spend the money to sack him. And then spending more money for a new coaching team.

Yes we need the side strenghthening that has to be the priority in the summer. Hopefully it will be because if we slide any further will be in for a relegation battle.

Can anyone name any club ( possibly bar the famous Alex Ferguson at Man Utd story) who would give their manager as much grace ? What reason if not finances would you give for them still persevering with him ?

I've already given you a reason in the very post you quoted. I'm not saying that I disagree with you generally. I'd have sacked him weeks ago. I'm just saying that given what we know, the club failing to do so because of a lack of money makes a lot less sense than several other possibilities.

That’s nothing in the football league even. It’s ridiculous to even think half of that is of any value. His dad shied away from fronting the Swans even during the good times. Fear of failure and retention of their wealth will always come first. BTW I don’t blame them one bit.
