Swansea City : Falling from grace right in front of us ? 28th Nov 2023 11:33
There should be considerable concern that the Swans attendances are falling dramatically since the first home game against Birmingham City. Today on The Indy we have a look at the stats and reasoning for this dramatic fall. 0

Another great article Keith even though it does make depressing reading.
Attending games per season is getting less than less, and, a strange thing to some, but I felt closer to the club in the lower divisions than I do now.
Obviously things in real life can affect things, but the club seems to be drifting, and in the wrong way.
Your article points out so many things, and it's very difficult to see how things are going to change. It's not all about more input of finance, as that just clouds the issues.
On and off the pitch, there seems to be no consistent plan, and the ever changing off field structure seems to hamper and not improve.

It’s the reality of an ever declining situation I’m afraid.

Personally, as you know I’ve been here before on the inside, and I know you recall those days well.

Thanks for adding to my depressed feelings toward the club at the moment. lol
Great article but in all honesty its making me sick to the pit of my stomach. There has been a decline off the field and around the club for a while but now seems to enveloped everything and is being capped by less than positive performance on the pitch. Everything that was gained from our rise through the leagues and PL is slowly being eaten away.

The fans have information on the LLC. It is a fund owned by Kaplan Levien Silverstein Coleman for servicing the needs of Swansea city football club.

Their investment into Swansea city have come from there. The only thing fans do not know is how much money does t have. It is enough obviously.

Fans do not need to know this and neither do Swansea's rivals. it is business. The Canadian Postage service pension fund as big investment in many businesses in Europe.

Fas should be more concerned about the fund the own themselves, The SCST. It has £1m doing very little. I have asked questions and go not answers. How does it mitigate inflation at 7%?

If I was Coleman I would suggest fans concentrate on their own ownership not his group.

The questions I’ve posed with the LLC have not been answered. It’s a shady fund with little transparency.

It matters not a jot whether the fans have the information or not. What will they do with it? The fans have their own group which has even more questions un-answered.

No one knows how the Trust can protect itself and invest. The fans do not even understand their own organisation which is wilting in front of their eyes. 2002-2022 inflation was under 3%. The world has changed.

The four biggest investors of the LLC are known. There may be a list of smaller ones like the dentists and engineers. So what? Coleman will probably tell the forum politely he wants to keep his investment private but it is substantial.

Silverstein was in Wales for a few months last year generally being open and friendly. Nice guy I thought. I think he may have been taken aback by the lack of understanding of the fans about business. It is obvious even on this portal.

Transparency breeds confidence, clarity brings with it trust.

Coleman’s money should be evident in Swansea City’s UK accounts.
Not in the USA, people are suspicious already. Just be open, it gets you far more kudos in the long run.

He’s invested in the Swans by all accounts and became Chairman. What is that money invested in ? Who is involved. You don’t invest in a football club and put your money in a fund that nobody can see or at least be privy to the amount. His will be the final straw and I know this from campaigns of the past.

The fans want to feel valued, not kept in the dark.

The trust are running their business badly but there isn't anything very shady about it. The owners though, why open up the LLC?

When questions are being aske about the LLC, why turn it to the trust? Obsessed much?

You can be the owners stooge as much as you like, the falling attendances show where people are looking, at what's going on with the owners because the trust is of little relevance since they sold out.

This has been coming. The player trading model as you write has kept things ticking over, but not reinvested into quality. We are now almost at a dead end with the traditional big money summer sales. Coupled with seemingly the end of up and coming managers we are now seeing the results and lack of performance on the field.

Does anyone know exactly how many bit part owners the club has now? It’s got to be close to 50. None of the big money investors seem to have made any impact on the squad.

Kaplan Levien could have invested individually in Swansea city but they found the original 28 to join them. The pooled their resources into the LLC. Silverstein invested a reported £5m originally independently. He signed on with the LLC at some point. Coleman joined the LLC as well

As I understand their accounts and data is filled in Delaware which means they can keep it private.

The Trust has a constitution written in legalese language which means very few members understand what they can and cannot do. If they cannot invest and protect against inflation they should close their doors. Their £1m fund is devaluing daily at a rate of £1350 a week.

In that case it is suitable for spending money but not saving money. This is suitable for Exeter city where any money they make from subscription goes directly to the team. Their Trust which may be the same as Swansea's is suitable for League 2 club living day to day not affluent Championship club.

Either invest or shut down. The must be able to invest in something to protect their cash. Fans demanding know the details of the LLC do not understand their own ownership so it a waste of time. The Trust has been made irrelevant by the actions of the members who appear lazy to me.

I posted two years ago they need advice and an options study. One option will be conversion to a body more flexible.
