New station planed for Landore. Bravo I am not a Labour supporter but I give them credit for recent Swnsea announcements. The Swansea Lagoon green hub and this new train link.

A train link to the hospital too . Good stuff.

15 minute towns re drenched in negative spin but i think it is a good concept. I delivered my Mam to Morriston Hospital. it was a parking nightmare.

I think Crockett had a station before. It may have been abandoned. I know the area a little.

Great news, but if they are mainly using existing track infrastructure it begs the question why wasn’t this done before? People were talking about a station at Landore before the Premier League days.

Better late than never.

The reason it wasn't done before is Labour were not being chucked out of the Senedd before. We have been taken for granted for to long, to little to late.

The mare that is Eluned Morgan is promising the world to wales at the moment

Welsh Labour have done the square root of Fanny Adams for the last 27yrs, for anywhere else in Wales apart from Cardiff.

Promises they are not going to have to pay out on as they won't be in power. I didn't see provision for this anywhere in the recently passed Senedd budget. One year electrifying the Cardiff to Swansea line is not viable the next it is. £1B cost for the project, but what stood out for me was, "No Firm Timeline: Although studies are ongoing, there is no formally confirmed delivery schedule for the full Swansea Bay Metro project."

Anyone would think there was an election coming up, only the brain dead would fall for this. As I said leaked a week early.

People have had enough of them now and its got to be said that the last First Minister Drakeford did so much damage its going to take a miracle to recover from, so much money wasted under his tenure, utterly useless piece of work.

The damage to Labour is not from Eluned and Drakeford but Starmer and his crew In London in my opinion. Silly slogan like "Smash the gangs" promised action but resulted only in powder puff schemes.

The Senedd has been getting on with it in the South east Metro. No reason to be overly negative about the Swansea scheme.

It may have been leaked last week but the first I have seen of it today. It was not posted on here.

Labour were behind in the Senedd polls before Starmer was elected. The 20mph was the straw thst broke the camels back. Some including you said that the 20mph petition would have no effect. It was the turning point that showed that Welsh people could actually oppose Labour in Wales and win.

It may have passed you by but 26 years of mismangemnet, corruption and pure unaldultered dross by 3rd rate councillors in cardiff have damaged Wales, some would say irrevocably.

I would have thought news of a new station (albeit some years down the line) would have made it to this website . There was another thread on a minor £20m investment. I do not live in Swnsea and interested in links to Neath.

Are you suggesting this scheme is a non starter.? News of course might have been brought forward as with the lagoon.

Starmer has only been in power 18months I know he's a completely useless, but he can't be blamed for how useless Welsh Labour as been over the 27yrs they've been in power here and Drakeford was in power long before Starmer became Labours leader, but hey ho lets not let the truth get in the way of a good yarn.

I consider Brexit as far more damaging to Wales than anything Rhodri, Carwyn, Drakeford or Eluned ever did,

Welsh people by a narrow majority followed England who had concerns of immigration and now pay the price. The Senedd warned Welsh people but they with open eyes put British Sovereignty over Trading. It has made Wales poorer and less competitive as predicted.

Labour could be blamed as Corbyn was very late to the party. Brexit has failed miserably and Tory and Lbour have ruled over the decline. Reform have persuaded some to double down on the madness. USA trade was supposed to take over from Europe and we have now walked into Trump's tariffs. Its a right royal fluxfest. Wales exports have dropped 30% since Brexit. If you think that is due to the 20 mph or he M4 relief road you are with the fairies.

These new rail plans and lovely announcements?... If things progress at the rate things have done since devolution after watching a HTV Wales This Week special over a decade ago that reported how long it takes for transport initiatives to be completed in Wales? I would guess all project crossing line(s) will be passed in the year 2050 at the earliest, if at all.

That lovely relief road, and promises of hey!!!!

After all its taken well over a quarter of a century to get around from making promises about it, to then decide to scrap it permanently.

Takes some doing that i.e. spending over a quarter of a century to achieve absolutely s*d all!!!!

Argus!

The whole point of these announcements are planning for the Senedd elections after next if there is one. Labour announce the plans a month before they lose power, the next Welsh Government cancel/postpone because of lack of funding and proposed escalating costs. The next election build up Labour use it as election propaganda saying that their proposals were cancelled and they would carry them through. Rinse and repeat. Anyone with an ounce of sense can see through this.

I have posted about this a while ago - I think pre-covid. Whilst this is clear electioneering it shows Rob Stewart really has tried his best to drag Swansea up by it's bootstraps without much support from Cardiff Bay.

There is though a massive flaw with this plan, due to track configuration the north Swansea track is effectively one way, to get from Morriston to Landore you either have to go via Neath or change in Llansamlet. The only "new" part of this that might work is the Aberdulais - Swansea via Fabian way tram. Is that needed though?

Surely it would be cost efficient running more frequent small trains from Baglan to Llanelli, adding in Landore and Cockett. Incidentally there would be no chance of adding a car park at Cockett. Then use a linked up bus routes to outer areas, other cities like Manchester have added purely bus roads instead of rail/tram routes away from vehicle traffic although they have an existing tram and rail network this has proved more efficient cost wise and in moving passengers from a to b much quicker.

I will reply this once to put you straight again and for the umpteenth time.

"If you think that is due to the 20 mph or he M4 relief road you are with the fairies."

That relief road not going ahead has and will cost Wales Billions from lost investment, this 20mph is costing businesses bungles to, I know due to the work I do. I don't expect you to understand that, because you'd rather the roads into Wales were blocked off because of your weird insularity, Fairies indeed!

Don't bother replying cause I won't be replying to you again.

The failure to have the relief road and aid congestion is so obvious when you see the large haulage companies now based in Magor and Spytty, the other side of the congestion.

It's Rob Stewart - he's second choice on the Labour list on May 7th. This is all down to him, we're still being ignored by Labour in the Senedd.

I should add - none of this is new, it's been planned for way over 5 years.

Are people really taken in by this?

Will be scrapped due to no funds once elected.

All looks good on paper , artists impressions of how great this scheme will turn out added and then of course the AI generated nonsense .

Any chance of filling the potholes around my driving area daily instead of throwing money at another non event .

NPTC as bad as the rest of these Comedians at the helm .

Big promises which my Tax Bill from April 1 and rising will see no local changes to my area .

Plod on the beat locally , forget it but still paying the costs for invisible policing around here .
