| Swansea City : Why is Ronald in the news again ? Explained on 18:44 - Jul 27 with 3489 views | swansjack84 | Let's all make a deal on this forum. From now onwards we simply praise Ronald and how he beats every player and is worth at least 15M. Then all fingers and toes crossed Coventry comes in to pay stupid money for him. 😂. Joking aside, for me I wanted Ronald to succeed, but it just isn't gonna happen. As the saying goes he huffs and he puffs. He is way to inconsistent to be deemed as a good player. One week he looks like a star the next week looks like he has never played the game. [Post edited 27 Jul 18:45]

Dunno) they can get more effective performances out of him. If he goes to Coventry, I expect surprises. And Jacks saying "Why couldn't he do that for us?" - because it wasn't his assignment.
| Swansea City : Why is Ronald in the news again ? Explained on 19:37 - Jul 27 with 3273 views | GVJack | He seems like a decent lad and works his socks off. I wouldn't mind him remaining in the squad next year. He doesn't deserve to start the number of matches he does. Perhaps time on the bench will do him good and give him some motivation to improve his end product. He'd also be a good option I think to come off the bench and run at tired defenders. If he goes, I hope we get both a decent fee and a sell on % because he could well kick on on the right team/system which we could double benefit from. | | | |

I think the pairing of Key and Ronald just hasn't worked under a number of managers, There have been signs of the pairing working a bit better under Matos but that has been after Key returning to fitness, Ronald looked better with Parker and initially with Galbraith but as Galbraith bright play at fullback faded and he started taking too many touches of the ball and teams targeted him. Ronald needs the ball up to him earlie, Key when he first played with us looked a different player all be it playing further forward and on the left in a unnatural position for him unsure of himself only taking a minimal number of touches on the ball getting it forward quicker instead of what he did on the right similar to Galbraith playing rightback who started taking too many touches , taking too long on the ball, getting caught on the ball and then most frustrating using the back pass as his go to option. A winger needs quick ball to him or into the space in behind the defence but when double marked or the space is closed down they need to have runners off them or options of play be it short lay offs which can mean a midfield or fullback can move onto the ball at pace which drags players off the winger giving him space We have seen a number of good loanee wing prospects be deemed in adequate because we seemed reluctant to get the ball to them or allowed them to be crowded out with no support . Ronald is a robust player the only reason he goes down is the one either protect himself or win a free kick, Often a fullback will leave one on wingers early on in games, it does seem as if ra number of efs don't want to dish cards out early in games but I have found it perplexing after Ronald gets a fullback carded, we seem to stop supplying ball to Ronald especially when the booked fullback is struggling to contain him,, getting the opposition to sub a fullback uses one of the opposition's manager option to change a game. Can Ronalds first touch be a bit heavy yes but so can Vipotniks, can Ronald beat a fullback one on one from a standstill position maybe not very often but that is the fullbacks job to stop him. A word of caution with regards to fullbacks starting from deep and bombing forward, someone has to be quick to cover them and it takes a lot of "sprinting"to both get forward to attack and then get back to defend take there toll. When fullbacks sit deeper and wider to defend the wings initially and then support the our winger does that shape work not if the inside channels are not protected by others. Wingers and fullbacks need to work well together, if the understandings aren't there they can both look poor. Matos seems to be getting to grips with Championship football but will opposition managers get to grips with Matos?

A good manager out thinks the opposition manager, when they themselves are being out thought.

Did they think he played for Udinese the other day instead of the Swans? They only sign / sell players between the two clubs due to the ownership.

Whoops "efs" an honest slip up, it is a thankless job and with the diving and dirty tactics that are employed it makes the game almost unwatchable abd ref get tput in bad positions, it is a contact sport and a bit of robustness should be allowed especially at the start of games but when things are obviously vicious, dangerous or simulated then cards needs to be issued.

True As the standard of referees has dropped the standard of cheating by players has.made their job multi times more harder.
