| Swans defender Stephen Welsh : Is exhaustion playing a part ? on 17:59 - Oct 27 with 1709 views | Fireboy2 | Warraloadashite. We arent the only club with internationals. We arent the only club with injuries. There are loads of championship clubs with injuries that dont have any internationals. Ateotd they are professional footballers who do nothing else apart from training for and playing football. This is just one player with issues. Sorry to say but this report is a load of bollox. I don't believe Ronald or Yeo played any competitive football in the international break apart from the behind doors friendly. | | | |

Of course if we break that list down, Josh Key, Ronald and Moussa Yeo don’t play international football. Cameron Burgess does, but he was out with a long term injury well before the break. I do really enjoy the reports, but I can’t help feel there was one sentence in there designed to trigger the predictable response it got.

Well, it’s asking a question so best think again. It offers news on the player and his position, and queries if internationals affect those who play for their countries. Totally out of order response.

Or it could be none of those thongs and it's just bad luck!

The real news on that is Matos himself stating Welsh gets tired hence subbing him off and the fact he’s having treatment.

It did get the bite as you say. The common sense response is how many of our players who were on international duty in the break are injured and how many are not. Only the foolish with an agenda can't see the obvious.

Yes it probably is but certain people/person will see this different because they love negativity. Matos' tactics have got us to second in the league a quarter way through the season. If we were battling along with the likes of wrecsam and scumdiff people would be moaning even more. Matos' job is to get the best out the squad, he has pushed them to get us where we are, it just seems he cant win 🤷

Nobody is moaning, and definitely not anyone connected to this website of any note.

There are quite a few teams with far worse injury concerns than us, you need to stop looking for excuses and go down the route of it is what it is as far as injuries are concerned.

Just as well we can’t read each others posts I stand by every word Internationals are disruptive Yes, some players are not but most ARE It’s been the case they come back jet lagged or injured This time Esatq and we get beaten Welsh has played himself into the ground then he’s asked to play three games in a short period for a country that is hardly a Stella player in the game Why cannot this be discussed without hate speech from the same people Internationals at the end of the season fine Just when players are getting into a routine ,nah People don’t need either to fly around wearing a beanie hat, wave the flag, stroke local dogs and charm the natives with their niceness Truth hurts ,every time As I said, save Keith the hassle and contact me direct It’s the club that matters

Just giving an alternative explanation which differs from the article leading this thread. In my opinion the continual press only works if players are rotated correctly. Although our central defenders don't work as hard as the other team members their concentration needs to be higher as one mistake can lead to a goal. They are rarely substituted or rested.

Tbf on WR, hes a very knowledgeable poster, he is just asking a question, he isnt stating that matos' pressing tactics are the problem, as most know, most teams employ the pressing tactic.

I see no harm in giving the lad a rest Seelt is more than capable and in both boxes.

Seelt and Welsh are different types of players in my opinion, Welsh is better on the floor and Seelt in the air and should be picked to combat the opposition strengths. But there is nothing wrong with changing on 70 minutes. But Matos does normally use all his subs and prefers to change the hardworking players further forward.

I.love how matos has preferred an old style no5 and a sweeper. You can play cabango and welsh/lissah, seelt with welsh/lissah, welsh and lissah but not cabango and seelt.

Are you being serious ? These are highly paid fit Championship footballers with barely 25% of the season gone. In not sure if you are joking, being ironic or a plain daft sheep?

Thank you. I think some don't realise that I am right behind Matos and the team and my questioning is sometimes seen as negative. I think it is right to question as things are not always right, a week or so ago I was questioning our homegrown policy and looking at the issues, it seem that was correct.
