Why Ward Prowse did stay on the pitch for the whole game? He hardly touched the ball in the whole ninety minutes and should have come off instead of Sims. Still good result.

Overall, I was pleased with the team performance. The plan seemed to be not to try to compete to keep possession but to try to hit them on the break. It worked.

Ings, Redmond and Sims linked up surprisingly well, and although Ings did not score, he linked up our pacy pair very well, and despite not having much possession we could have scored a hatful of goals.

Yet again great game management from Ralph, and a great result against a very talented Wolves team.

A poor match but a good result. Lots of huff and puff about Wolves but no real threat yesterday other than corners. Great to have a right winger with speed and guile at last. Should start over the dreadful Ward Prowse for the rest of the season.

Scored too early, so naturally sat back and played into their hands with their possession game. Too much panic and poor passing gifted Wolves good chances, but at least we showed spirit and got straight back into the lead once Wolves drew level.
Despite Wolves dominance, we still created great chances and Sims gave me nightmares with that miss !! Left foot shot first time, or go round the keeper FFS. Ings was quite instrumental in creating our chances, including the assist for Redmond's 2nd, but he seemed off the pace. Likewise Valery seemed jaded and JWP shoes us he is not a holding midfielder.
The 2nd half subs changed the game for us. Rom immediately bossed the centre of the park and this allowed Hoj to have a bit more freedom and JWP look much more comfortable in a more attacking role (he covered an impressive match high 7.8 miles). Long put in a great shift and harassed the wolves defence for half an hour and was rewarded with his goal - which looked off side but TV showed he was on - so he is now in the prolific category !! :-)

Just a shame we couldn't add to the goal tally and how Yoshi's close range effort was saved, was unbelievable. I fancied a hatrick from Redmond too !! Never mind, we held out even with some indifferent defending, especially in the 1st half, but 3 points thank you and now we're virtually safe.

Maybe the board knew we would win and were justified in issuing the season ticket renewal details early ? Hopefully they will allow Ralf a major overhaul in the summer and we can avoid a 3rd straight relegation fight.

Interesting change in team selection and formation (3-4-3) with Simsy coming into the team in stead of Romeu. Sims certainly made us more goal seeking and threatening, and a third attacker in the team gave Ings the opportunity to show us how great he is in build up play and combining in the final part of the pitch getting a role similar to for instance Firminos role in Liverpools team. We had significantly more finishing than usually, which was nice.
Tough luck for Romeu, sacrificed on the table of tactics, but I´m sure he understands and accepts the value of tactical speculation and versatility.
It feels great to have a manager who so obviously seems to do his job very well in every department of managing.

Oh well. We all knew Swansea was a false dawn. But why, when getting in Swansea's faces from the kick off clearly works doing we play today as if we're too busy slapping on the sun lotion in the Easter sunshine?

I don't believe the players don't care - I know that does take a huge leap of faith sometimes, but I do think they care.

Is it the failure of the manager to prepare them properly? But if so what did he do so spectacularly different last week? Or is there a malaise at the club, a dysfunction, that distracts too many and uses up too much mental energy so nothing is left for Saturday?

I know Blackburn looked better organised than Swansea, but Swansea have a better record.

Probably we were just lucky against the Swans.

And did no one think it might be worth marking Armstrong or giving poor Manning summer help? Aaarrghhh!!

AS soon as I saw that Stephens was in the starting line up I feared the worst. Sims is not ready to start games but should be used as a late sub. Against Watford we need to start Armstrong and Lemina and drop Prowse. Prowse has gone back to his old ways and has been bad in the last 3 games. You cant have a player in the team just incase you get a freekick just outside the penalty area.
