Thank you LBlock for both those videos..bought a tear to my eye. What makes me sad was we were all so together those days it didn't matter if you were white black or whatever.
It was such a big thing after the years of the National Front, British Movement etc. it was such a big change and I'm not sure that anyone who didn't live through the 60's, 70's and early 80's can appreciate what the whole Rave scene gave to us all.
To me it ain't about colour it's about culture, decency, doing right thing, and wanting the best for everyone......being quintessentially English I suppose :-)
All the hate and division these days makes me so sad, I can only see it all ending in genocide....
Maybe the house crew can pull it back ?

Funnily enough I ended up somewhere with a fella I only see from time to time now on Saturday night and I mentioned these two videos and the unbelievable quality due to the digital retouching. It turns out he was at the do and was filling me in on it being a fundraiser for The Marchioness Disaster and the backdrop to it. Sounded mental. Also confirmed me thinking I recognized a few faces such as Stephen Hannon (DJ Phantasy) and the crazy twins who were at a couple of the Helter Skelter do's and Camden Palace back in the day Had a great chat and regaled some classic memories
I wish I could go back there now, I wish I'd got photographic memories of those days, I wish I had a bundle of videos of our lot having laughs and japes, I wish everything wasn't so fractured and just generally a bit sh1t these days
But the music lives on Have a good week peeps

DJ Phantasy is a total legend, made some fantastic music over the years.
BrixtonR sums up perfectly what the whole scene was about, I personally was too young to really appreciate it but the vibes were something else!

Brought back memories of those boys playing Kew the Music a few weeks back. Top night but I have to say 808 State didn't really entrall the crowd. Unlike later when most were a right State!!
