Not been mentioned yet, surprisingly, as it's so obvious and in the Warnock mode.

Fergie...

It's about time...

Given the amount of time we have lost games in extra time we need a manager to persuade referees to finish the game after about 80 minutes especially with the recent dross and not play 100 minutes of football at home.

I've always liked Lee Johnson as a manager, thought we should have gone for him when Holloway got the job but really I've no idea who we should go for

I'd prefer Bowyer to Sherwood, Warburton or Rowett but I think that of the obvious choices, Appleton is a better bet, on the grounds that he has more experience. Could Bowyer do it with Derry or Bircham? Who knows...

I hate Bowyer as a human being.

Tim Sherwood is mental and looks like a Tesco Value Jeremy Renner.

Mark Robins? Managed over 500 games and at clubs in more trouble than us.

I've been reading more about the Cowleys. They seem the sort of young, progressive managers that we should be after. Feels like their next move will be to a club not far off our size. Why not?

Bare bones.

Michael Appleton was someone I supported getting as our manager a while back, along with Chris Wilder, but I would have no clue as to how he would feel about working with us now.
Left field suggestions along the lines of club legends/ love the club types with a good pedigree, and their badges, would be David Bardsley or Gino Padula.

The grass is always greener.

What do we think is the harder: trying to agree Brexit or finding a QPR manager?

History would suggest that as parliament has only had two years at it, compared to nearly 50 years of perpetual incompetence; the Palace of Westminster are mere pups.

There would be a lot of goodwill from supporters for an appointment like this - it would be good to see a management team on the way up, rather than one who has been around the block and is on the way down / treading water.

Out of interest - a lot of posters saying they would tear up their season tickets and walk away if Tactics Tim gets the gig - but really? will you?

I must admit that I've said it - but then, on reflection, I know I'll be back again (as usual) - we're gluttons for punishment, us lot. In my case it will be a standard blend of unjustified optimism and morbid curiosity.

...also, I don't have a season ticket.

Mark Warburton a no go apparently. As expected wanted too much control over youth and transfer policy and as expected QPR were not willing to give him that, presumably because they have done such a great job on that side of things.

That's why he originally left Brentford as they bought in a DOF.

Wouldn't think their style of football is much conducive to developing young, diminutive technical players.

The club have certainly done a much better job doing it themselves than leaving it solely to managers and their retinue. (And Warbs' track record is hardly flawless anyway).

Warbs will be well worth keeping in mind if and when Sherwood takes everyone down with him I suppose.

renewed in Jan, and ST's are made of plastic, so difficult to tear up. And I'd still go, in case TT turned out to be good!

What is their style mate? Honestly don't know much about it. Just like the cuts of their jibs and the fact that they get results everywhere.

Bare bones.

They'd be an excellent choice, but why would they come to us? We're not that much bigger or better resourced than Lincoln these days. As mentioned in another thread they're re-building a club and have pretty much a free hand to do it, they could well be in the Championship in a couple of years. I'm guessing clubs with more to offer than QPR currently do have already approached them and been turned down.

Direct, big striker, run hard, get at the ref, the usual. But it's not like I watch them every week either. Do indeed get results.

We're more Patrick Cowley.

Not saying they would, but pretty rare for any manager at all to turn down a job at a club one league higher, let alone two.
Plus, money.

Bare bones.

It is no comparison really Lincoln or QPR.

Let's at least be realistic when we are running down the club we love.

I hope the club take their time and preferably don't hire someone who is unemployed now for good reason. I also hope they cast their net wide and beyond the UK: what about looking at successful managers in smaller leagues across Europe, in Scandinavia for example?

Can't Les have a go?

If it goes wrong we can get rid of the manager and DOF in one fell swoop.
