Well he's defending his players as you'd expect him to. If he kills them then he kills any chance of turning it around.

He's lost Eze, Hall, Hugill, Wells, Manning and seemingly BOS over this year because we couldn't afford to keep them, had to let Eze proceed etc. Loses Amos and can't get Thomas right fitness wise yet. Loses Wallace, as good or bad as that is it's another player lost. Bringing players up a level, others that have experience but can't play 90 minutes yet, with a squad that has become disbalanced through set of circumstances.

All on a very tight budget and one that is again lower this season.

If you clear your head and read that back to yourself and put yourself in the shoes of being manager here, it wouldn't make you sleep well at night.

The main thing is to try and keep the younger

I don't know what else we'd expect him to say but you'd hope behind closed doors the way we played with 10 men is addressed as it was abysmal

I do agree with him though. Think we gave our all first 20/30 mins playing quite well but didn't get a goal. After that it all went a bit tits up.

Can't agree that they all worked their socks off? Barbet I thought gave up towards the end.

The game last's for 90 odd minutes not for the first 20/25 minutes.

Keyboard warriors got a mention tonight.

I'm guessing we'll hear pretty much the same at about 5.45 Saturday evening after Cardiff have left LR with a gift wrapped three points.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Agree, Barbet did give up to me. Completely unprofessional.

I get his frustration at “keyboard warriors”. Technically we’re all in that bracket on here.

But I fear he can’t see the woods for the trees. Some of the stuff online is WAY over the top, but some of it is reasoned and perfectly valid.

In the way he got overly defensive with Clive, he needs to be careful not to box himself into a position where “all” criticism is “keyboard warriors”. All that shows is the lack of personal and collective accountability in the squad under his watch. And I’d happily sit there with him and say the same thing.

I agree with MW 100%....dunno what the issue is with Barbet, playing very well.

Yes I did, you just have a problem with Barbet and you try and justify it all the time.

Bit like Ned where you thought he was a fantastic footballer despite not being able to pass the ball 10 yards.

I think he mentioned that as he can feel the tipping point and a few of us now see where we are at.
In the main the fan base been extremely understanding but come on, you can’t look at Schteeve’s record and Ollies record, even ODH’s and not start to question why he’s taken us backwards

If we’d been unlucky in loads of the last 28 games then fair enough; fact is we’ve been crumbly old dogshite apart from a few decent performances and other sporadic patches in games. It ain’t good enough, he knows it, questions on his ability at yet another club are the result hence attack is his best form of defence

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Of course it is okay for Warbs to say what he feels. BUT he should be feeling anger and disappointment in his players and himself above and beyond “keyboard warriors”. They didn’t pick this side and past ones. They don’t train the players. They don’t step into the pitch and play. Accountability rests with the players and coaching staff. Own it. Stop referencing keyboard warriors. It’s a deflection technique. It shows a lack of personal and collective accountability.

We were clearly highly unfortunate to concede two 'bizarre' goals and play against a team who are very good at playing against ten men. Them's the breaks.

No I don't see it that way......think he is saying that people will just look at the score and start complaining.

It was correct that we ran the game until Dickie got sent off.....we should have scored. He got sent off, they got lucky with their 2nd goal but we kept going. Came out 2nd half and was doing well, Barbet scored the own goal but we still put effort in. We lost 3-0 and it looks bad against an average team.

Typical BS from you, as usual. Never said Ned was a great footballer, just that he was a good defender. Something Barbet is not. I know defenders are you’re strong point, Gaz, so just let it go. I always explain my thoughts and criticism (as well as positives). Only you post opinions as facts with no evidence.

I am sure he is 'mad' with his players and disappointed but perhaps he wants to sound upbeat and look at the positives from the game.

He knows who is to blame for the result, its obvious its his and the staff and if he was asked the question i am sure he would accept it......

Fact, you always go on and on and on....this season Barbet. When Ned was playing it was praise, praise and more praise despite being very average indeed. Your opinions are your opinion but they are not mine by a long chalk.

That’s all broadly true, Gaz. But you cannot just pass them off as things Warburton doesn’t control or influence. And in doing do, he (and you) is encouraging a lack of personal and collective accountability.

We all knew Dickie could be handsy from game one. There have been 3-4 pen shouts against him for hands on. Warn him. Coach him. Make him take accountability for selling his team down the river.

We all know we are dominating the game with our previous shape, so why did MW change the shake so drastically (to ill result)? Just take off Bonne, hold your shape but with one up top. Hold you hands up. Fans and player respect that.

We all know Barbet has clownish errors in him. It’s hardly the first. And 2-0 down away with 10 men is hardly the time to be attempting a first time back pass from a dangerous cross into the box with no one, especially the keeper expecting it. Have him own it and take responsibility.

I can go on...

Exactly, it’s your opinion he was “very average indeed”, not a fact like you make out. But progress that you admit your perspective is only an opinion. I’ll take that. When I see some more detailed analysis from you backing up your opinion on defending I’ll take it more seriously. And well done for giving up the “punter” stuff.

It's a shame the interviewer didn't ask him for his thoughts on why we've only managed to score one solitary goal in five games of football, that goal being a last minute header by Bonne. (thank f uck for that goal eh?)

I agree with his comments. Despite losing 3-0 I feel more confident after this game than Birmingham, now that was a really poor performance.
