The most pyhsical pain you've ever experienced 01:57 - Feb 28 with 5116 viewsFredManRave

I was going to post his on the "Random Irritations" thread but I would pay good money for my current pain to just be an irritation. So here's a lovely new Saturday night thread for us all to share our worst physical moments on. And I don't think this theme has actually been done before.

First of all, I should be realistic and a man of the 20's and say Nix is in first place with child birth.

I'm voting second being sciatic nerve pain. I've had it a week now and despite 4 injections of Flexicamin B12 in my R's in the last four days I am still in absolute agony. And it's actually getting worse. So I'm now not even convinced it's the sciatic nerve as those injections should at least alleviate the pain. So MRI scan on Monday to hopefully clarify exactly what the problem is but fcuk me it's a constant pain, I'm unable to get into a comfortable position and have to drug myself up with all sorts just to get through the night (silver lining).

Looking forward to hearing your stories...

I've got the Power.

Gallstones.

Never known anything like that pain. Was misdiagnosed initially, like Nix, lots of anti acids didnt do much at all. Was given Omapraezole for suspected ulcer, consultant was dismissive of suggestion of it being gallstone.
On a friends advice I insisted on an ultrasound and turned out I had a gallstone the size of a golf ball and infected gallbladder. Ended up with dose on antibiotics and gallstone and bladder removed couple of weeks later. Cannot describe how painful it was, but left me totally incapacitated. Wouldnt wish it on anyone.

Never knowingly understood

Had the odd few sports injuries, 2 broken nose, broken little toe and a rock climbing accident when I hit the ground from about 10’ but nothing really bad.
My climbing accident was nothing for a fit 17 year old but it obviously knackered my back as I struggle now with persistent lower back pain which can’t be treated without a major operation on my spine.
My wife would agree with Nix though having had 2 children and finally had her gall bladder removed a couple of years ago having had 2 or 3 gallstone episodes.

Child Birth

After months of being told it was the worst pain ever and to give my wife lots of assurance and hold her hand.

Our first was delivered 10 mins after arriving at the hospital, lost a fair bit of skin off my hand and was thinking that's maybe more painful and lasting longer.

Baby handed to me and she pooped on my new Levi 501's, that black muck never came out, were ruined.. Painful

The second child came out like a rocket rolling on to the bed when we were waiting in a side room to be moved, no nurse nothing, again after being there for 10 mins

I've had harder times having a shit.

4 stand out.

1. Needing a tooth extraction aged 12, the dentist injected the site and the needle broke inside my gum. He had to slice my gum open and pull the broken section of needle out. That hurt.

2. Pulling my calf muscle playing cricket. It was like a hot knitting needle being jabbed into my calf. I screamed.

3. Broke my little toe in contact with a door frame. It was fractured right through and when I put my foot in a bowl of cold water to ease the pain before going to the hospital, I had the surreal experience of seeing my little toe floating independently.

4. A couple of years ago I had to have surgery on a torn retina. Aside form the going in through the lens of the eye, eye clamped open etc, the cold at the back of my eye when they froze the retina back in position is indescribable. I screamed again and they very quickly upped the morphine.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Popped a couple of discs in my back. The pain was excruciating, to the point I needed morphine and gas and air just to be able to move

When I was 20 I dislocated my knee playing football - the pain was off the chart and it took an ambulance close on an hour to help. During that time I was being sick due to the pain. Got to the hospital at last and then waited four hours to have it put back in to place as they did not have the right doctor on shift to do it.

Following that I had to have a massive knee operation to tighten up my knee cap as the ligaments had stretched so much. The operation was ok but the pain afterwards was awful. My knee has never been the same and I was never able to play football again. Even now when I watch games especially when it is wet I feel sick just thinking about that day.

I've had broken bones and compacted discs, but nothing — nothing — has ever compared to gout.

At its worst, I've had my toe brushed slightly with a bedsheet and its been enough to make me scream: not an exaggeration. Had to crawl up the stairs because I couldn't put any weight at all on my foot. For the last few years I've been on Allopurinol — a pill every day — and thank God, because since then I haven't had an attack of it. I really cannot describe how painful it is, and it goes on for days. You cannot think of anything else except the pain.

Kidney stones ...twice

The most pyhsical pain you've ever experienced on 15:32 - Feb 28 with 1106 viewsCLAREMAN1995

All brutal stories and without question each person suffered a lot but I stand firm on the greatest pain ever being KIDNEY stones .Not sure if its the same condition as gall stones but this pain broke my threshold.
Having a nice relaxing shower when someone kicked me in the right side as hard as a human can kick (Not literally of course ).Dropped to my knees ,turned off the water ,crawled ba**s naked out to the bedroom ,pulled on jeans still wet not easy that then called my little girl to save me .Before she arrived I managed to crawl back in again and violently threw up in the toilet and basically lay down .She called my wife who was near and she drove to the hospital while I was jammed between the seat and dashboard trying to ease the pain.
2 big beefy men pulled me out and put me on the stretcher while I cried and begged for pain meds
I was kept on overnight hooked up to everything and the Doctor said I had passed a kidney stone the size of a pin head .I was incredulous thinking it was at least a golf ball but it appears not.
There is lots more waiting to break off he casually mentioned like I had not suffered enough .Nothing since (2017)and there is a new laser procedure to remove them but its out of my price range

I have a condition called jeep bum. It is a pain I get every few months at the very base of my spine. Usually, it slowly builds to about 7 out of 10 if 10 is classed as agonising, but sometimes it never comes to much.

For some reason, all the attacks were in the middle of the night when I was in bed. Once the pain reached its maximum, I would squirm around in a lot of discomfort for about 20 minutes, then the pain would go and, mercifully, not return for months. I should add here that I saw a specialist about it and they said it could be operated on but that was not recommended because the location of the issue could mean problems with infection and the scar not healing.

So it was a nuisance but no big deal until...I had an attack while at work. Not many people were in but when it started, I decided to go and hide in a toilet cubicle rather than wriggle around in my chair or pace endlessly around gritting my teeth.

I quietly set off for the loo but the next thing I knew, I was staring at something grey from very close up. Weird, I thought, and then I realised what was going on: I had passed out in the corridor and was staring at the carpet!

I was a bit bruised and very embarrassed but otherwise fine. Perhaps I had underestimated the pain.

Luckily, no colleagues saw it happen because they might have thought I'd had a heart attack!

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Not sure it compares to kidney stones but I once caught my little toe on the skirting board and dislocated it to a 45 degree angle which hurt a lot. Even more when I pushed it back into place.

Or the time I was eating nuts and smashed a tooth, I had shooting pain up the nerve in my forehead which still makes me wince when I think about it.

*edit*
Also the time when my son was born and my wife dug her nails into my hand. It needed treatment from the midwife afterwards.

Ouch. Double and triple ouch. And ouch again.

Fell off a chair jaw first onto a hard patio at age 5, that hurt a lot. Rushed to hospital in an ambulance but nothing broken.

Felt my shoulder dislocate and then snap back into place while playing football aged around 10. Extreme but fairly brief pain. Went straight back to lessons after lunch and didn't think much more of it until years later when I realised it must have been a dislocation. To this day I'm reminded of it every time I swim backstroke as I have less movement in that shoulder.

Fell straight on to my coccyx from a couple of feet in the bathroom. Again nothing broken but unbelievable and horribly enduring pain.

Abscess behind a tooth. Abominable pain in the 36 or so hours I had to pass before seeing the dentist.

But compared to some of you it seems I've led a charmed life.

Kidney stones. Without doubt. Made worse by the fact it kicked in while stuck in traffic on the M4 right next to Lionel Road. Thought i was dying right in front of Brentfords new ground. No ambulance turned up when i called. My missus had to come and pick me up from Bracknell and took me to Reading Hospital. To also add there was a festival at Gunnersbury , gridlock traffic , had ravers thinking i was overdosing as i rolled about on the floor. Horrible experience. Pee'd the stone out the next day. Got a few more stones waiting in my bladder to ruin another day ,the little bar stewards.

I've got hyper extension of my joints and have dislocated my kneecap on numerous occasions until I had an op, probably similar to yours to correct it. The pain is indescribable. Luckily for me mine usually popped back in of its own accord, although I did whack it back in myself on a couple of occasions. I was subsequently told this could be extremely dangerous as you could trap the artery underneath the kneecap. Don't know if that's true but at the time you'd do anything to stop the pain.
I still get nervous about anyone going near my knees!

Amen brother sufferer PunterR can I ask you how big it was at least say golf ball size.I cannot believe no ambulance showed up while you suffered alone to at least give you some happy pills .
I know the warning signs now they are mostly caused by dehydration and if I even get a tickle in my side I am chugging water like fnding an oasis in the desert

Fell out of a tree and snapped my arms when I was a kid. Dad was fuming because he'd told me to stay in and watch Blackburn v Sheff Wed with him (finished 7-1 I think or something daft) and I'd insisted on going out for another half an hour. So he wasn't very sympathetic when I'm brought back into the house, tells me to sit down on the sofa while we work out how bad it is. Put my hand down on the sofa and twisted to sit down, hand stayed where it was and the rest of my arm turned with my body. Honest to God the fcking grinding sensation of the two bits of bone either side of the snap on each other was like nothing else. My God. Took one look at the shape of my arm and vommed, and I don't think dad was far behind me.

Also, discovering what wnking was all about for the first time and then within a month having to spend six weeks with both your arms in plaster cast up to the knuckles was cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuel.

Mate, the stone was tiny. I put my hand down the bog to retrieve it and took a photo. No bigger than this capital O. 3mm basically. Apparently anymore than 4 to 5mm they operate. Trust me the highlight of the day was sticking a suppository up my arse when i got to the hospital. Ended up on morphine though.
Yeh its dehydration related.

Same here. A gallstone popped into my bile duct and gave me acute pancreatitis. Short spell in hospital and had to be given morphine for the pain and antibios.
They said the gallbladder needed to come out ASAP as it might well happen again. This hasn't happened because of Covid, so I'm stuck on an ultra low fat diet until such time they can perform the op.
The diet has left me with constipation and malabsorbtion of vitamins. Bloody 'ell.

Had back spasm that literally took my breath away. Was at work do & trying to get taxi home was shuffling along like an 80yo and stopping every few steps, may have even moaned on couple of occasions.
Sillier one was kicking table while going to pat the dog & my little toe dislocating - was at right angle. Had some laughing gas as Dr trying to pull back into place & was laughing while shouting at him that it still f’ing hurt & give me more gas!!

Walking barefoot in a stream and treading on glass, but that was not the worst of it, the injection the doctor put in the open wound before stitching it up, that hurt. it happened 35 years ago and I still remember the pain.

I have a couple of memorable incidents that passed my pain threshold.....

First one, like others i had a kidney stone, bloody excruciating, worst pain ever, writhing around on the floor doubled up,ambulance called and hey ho about an hour later i passed it and everything back to normal,i make sure to drink plenty of water nowadays....

Second one (and completely true)

Many moons ago,my then girlfriend had a contraceptive coil fitted. One night a little later, whilst she had the decorators in,i was pounding away doggy style and up to the makers nameplate when i felt this instant sharp stab in my Japs eye,i pulled out and blood was squirting all over the place from my erect member, jesus the pain was like a hot knife and i thought i was going to pass out.!!

Obviously i went instantly limp, and once the panic was over i managed to arrest the bleeding and bandaged my by now sore bell end.

Went to my doctor next day, gave me some antibiotics in case of infection. He told me that because my bird was on her period and her coil was newly fitted, that the coil had probably slipped down from its position and i had speared my Japs eye on the metal end of it......

Be careful out there chaps (and apologies in advance to any ladies reading this).....
