Unless I am missing something, I know he wasn't amazing for us before on the very very rare chances that he played, but he has come in as 3rd choice keeper for some qualifiers which means he is basically there so Hart can have a break on the training ground. He has been involved with England a few times before so knows whats expected and its not a position we are blessed with. Look, I am certain Smithies is the better keeper but McCarthy has played in the Premiership which seems to count for something and quite frankly, I would rather Smithies had the focus to concentrate on being the best he can for us at the moment. It ain't that bad is it? |  |
