AFCON 11:37 - Oct 21 with 3150 views | FrankRightguard | Just seen something that reckons players will be heading off after the Boxing Day game and depending on how they get on, may not be back until mid February. Should any of our boys go deep in the tournament we could be without Dieng & Chair for 8 league games plus the FA Cup tie! Triffic. Massive potential to derail the season.

AFCON on 13:11 - Oct 21 with 2910 views | RBlock | I can definitely see Amos filling in and playing further forward again in that no.10 role with Willock. He has a similar skill set to Chair in that he is fast across those first 10 yards, hard working, and will keep moving the ball quickly. Just needs to add a few more goals to his game! On another note, has anyone seen George Thomas recently?
AFCON on 22:38 - Oct 21 with 2643 views | daveB | So if they go after Boxing Day and they miss the following. If they go out in the group stage the last game they miss is West Brom Bristol City Away Birmingham Away West Brom Home Coventry Away Reading Home Millwall Away Boro Home

Good point re GT. Is he injured or just further down the pecking order, with the return of Amos?
AFCON on 00:00 - Oct 22 with 2498 views | DavieQPR | Could even play an extra forward with Willock left to roam behind.

Think MW mentioned that he had been/is injured in a pre/post match interview recently. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Ta. Real shame he's never really got going here. Injury after injury, and the form of others, keeping him out of the team. Has looked tidy and hardworking when I've seen him.

AFCON on 11:03 - Oct 22 with 2105 views | DaBurgh | I am more concerned that we may have Archer in goal for, maybe, 7 games.
AFCON on 13:08 - Oct 22 with 1968 views | danehoop | In many ways this gives us a chance to test what we are likely to face next season if we lose either Dieng and/or Chair in the summer (I think that if we don't get promoted that is quite likely). I am not so worried by Archer in goal, He has decent level of experience, is a good age did OK for us in his two games so far. The interesting one is the opportunities that open up in Chairs absence, given what incredibly good form he has been in recently. Likelihood is that Amos play a much bigger role. Hope we will see a bit more of Duke McKenna as he looks potentially very useful. Not sure if Bettache will return from Oldham (he probably isn't getting much from being there at the moment) but he also looked a tidy little player as well.

It wouldn't surprise me if Walsh gets the nod over Archer in January. Not that Archer has done anything wrong, I just think Warburton rates Walsh really highly. Who plays against Sunderland may give us some clue on his thinking With regard to Chair, good call on Amos above, not similar technically, but he is a good presser and could keep the oppo defence on the back foot. Also, I think if we are still in the mix (top ten) by then, we will strengthen with a couple of loans. If Clive's interview is anything to go by, they probably have identified a couple of targets already. Not necessarily a direct replacement for Chair, but possibly another mid-fielder and a right wing-back that would allow Adomah to play further forward in specific games. Other than WBA and Coventry, they are not the worst set of games to lose two of our more important players

Shirley he puts out his strongest possible team on Tuesday night?

AFCON on 14:55 - Oct 22 with 1839 views | daveB | With Chair out he could either go 2 up front or maybe switch to 4-2-3-1 and play Adoomah and Wilock wide. He will have options but of course he will be a big loss for us

Would have though it will be a strong team. Maybe a night off for De Wijs, Stef and whoever starts tomorrow up front, assuming Dykes.

Don't we go again on Friday, so I doubt it. Not a 'weak' team, but not full strength either. No Dieng, Jorgi, Jo Jo or Dykes imo
