Just caught a few moments whilst flicking channels (reception bit dodgy up here in Scotland due to storm) an overweight guy taking two attempts to lift a skinny bird onto his shoulder. F**king hilarious

Strong and stable my arse.

Good response. I used to like it back in the day, but it really is so manufactured these days with everyone so happy and grateful ignoring the bullying and serial shenanigans behind the scenes. They are all so bloody happy in their very Woke and diverse world.

It is harmless and as GB says, loads of people including my wife love it. I have my football with my lad and it tends to dominate our house over the weekend, so as the missus pointed out to me, she wants something and me sitting with her for a couple of hours so that she can chat about what is going on is no bad thing. She is right.

I don't like it as much as I used to, Tess is a Twiglet with limited talent, whereas Claudia is a Twiglet with a bit of talent, but it serves a purpose.

Now Gladiators with the one man entertainment machine that is Legend is genuine family viewing that all three of us love...

That's a good point Davman, for all of its faults old-style television at least used to bring families together on the sofa. Perhaps even marriages! Now everyone is staring at their own screen, not so much. So anything, however asinine, that enables some people to watch things together could be a good thing these days.

And if Tess and Claudia get any thinner I fear for them. If it is true that the camera adds 10 pounds, mind boggles. Can't be healthy.

Is the BBC still trying to hoodwink the general public that the Sunday show is live?

Get the fck out of here.

Not my cup of tea but plenty like it. And, I guess, relatively cheap entertainment for a Saturday night

Mel’s been on the blower- tells me he’s running a coach for the Blackpool ballroom extravaganza.

Who’s in?

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I used to be an avid Strictly fan, then it got just too... well I know some of you will hate this, but too woke for me. But recently I've dipped into the current series, because despite the many well aired objections, I like dance. And tonight I think I just watched the best dance I've ever seen on Strictly. Absolutely gobsmackingly brilliant. Lewis and Katya in the Halloween special. if you're a fan of this kind of thing, check it out.

I watched it... There is a difference... He has danced professionally so you would expect that wouldnt you. Now watch Karen Carney, a footballer who scored 38

Hope you get my drift

It doesn't matter to me mate, I'm simply talking about how good the dance was, I don't really care if he's danced before. Carney's dance was bloody good too. But his was a different level. There have always been people in Strictly who've had dance experience before mixed with the rank amateurs.

Recall there used to be a professionals dance competition called Come Dancing.. which they cancelled as nobody watched.

They’ve essentially included two professional dancers in this SCD, a bit like having an amateur white collar boxing tournament and finding Tyson Fury or Mike Tyson in the opposite corner.

Seems a bit pointless to me, even the wife’s given up on it.

I try and find the time to watch QPR away games. Me & the Mrs occasionally find a series we like; at the moment we're very slowly making our way through Slow Horses which is daft but watchable. And that's about it for us.

Each to their own and all that but Strictly leaves me cold and Claudia Winkleman drives me insane.

I'm the complete opposite - I think Winkleman is one of the best presenters on telly at the moment. Like a good ref, she just cracks on with it and you barely notice she's there. I bet she'd be a right laugh when she's pìssed.

Strictly can get in the sea though.

Didn’t see it last night . Drowning my sorrows in the Crown . According to Mrs paddy , Some bloke who danced and starred in a west end show got 4 tens.
Who’d have thought.

Exactly...

As mentioned above, it is unfair on people who have no dance experience and put extra effort in. Hopefully the public will bin him off.

That’s part of the problem.

Last week the girl professional ended up in the bottom two via the vote, but impossible to get rid of her as she’ll be up against a non dancer every week.

If the footballer girl ever ended up in the dance off against either of those two and the judges voted her off it’ll probably finish the show. That’d be worth watching!

Non-offensive show that has had millions poured into it.
This is because it's a top-watched show for the BBC and can also be sold around the world. Which BBC World always loves.

In addition, the extra dances they put on, which are not contestants' dances, are comparable to West End or Broadway shows in terms of production quality. Lights, choreography, moves, make-up, dance sets.

It has high-grade dance parts from musicals, on the cheap. So, if you cannot afford those shows (live far away, too expensive) and you like that stuff, then this is an easy win for them.

I dislike it as I am not into that sort of entertainment. Musicals and plays are not my thing. It is noticeable that it has a higher female audience than male. Same with soaps and un-reality TV.

I think the key word you're looking for here is "cheap".
