| Have we forgotten that Gavin Bazuna played for Pompey. 14:30 - Nov 10 with 2178 views | GRIM | I keep reading that some of us cannot accept Gary O'Neil because he's ex Pompey. The same people that are against O'Neil actually have no objection of Gavin Bazuna playing for us, alright Baz was only at Pompey for a season & O'Neil was there for an eternity. But they are both Ex Pompey.. I personally don't have any objection to us using our so called enemy's players or Coaches. I have never really been one to sing " I hate Pompey " , I'd like to see all of our local clubs do well but my allegiance is to Saints. | | | | |

He has never bigged up his Affinity with the Fratton Park faithful unlike O'Neal although he was voted player of the season. I think the comparison is very unfair. I'm sure most of us have visited Gun Wharf or the Victory maybe caught a ferry to thr IOW or France that doesn't make us skates

This is it in a nutshell. I keep seeing people say "x player played for the skates and us and people didn't mind", or "x manager managed them and us", but none of them claimed to be fans of the skates, claimed to dream of managing them, claim to check their results first, and celebrated them beating us. It's a completely different situation, and to be honest a situation that's unique in my lifetime. Oh and as for them doing well, nah that can f*ck off, i want those c*nts to go out of business again, for fratton to be sold to property developers, and for a hard border to be placed on Hayling Island
| Have we forgotten that Gavin Bazuna played for Pompey. on 17:00 - Nov 10 with 1911 views | Southamptonfan | There is difference between managing Pompey, playing for Pompey and saying you love them, love their fans, and want them to win every time they play Saints. He is a skate and shouldn't be managing Saints. David James is another one, bigging up Pompey at every opportunity. Gary O'neil bigs them up, say they are the best clib in Hampshire etc. We can't have that. [Post edited 10 Nov 17:02]

People forget that Ron Davies last goal at the Dell was for Portsmouth, that Mick Channon played for Portsmouth, you dont get too many Southampton legends bigger than those two.

The hatred is a relatively new thing stemming from the 60s/70s. Before this it didn't really exist. My great grandparents had season tickets at both The Dell and Fratton Park between the wars so they could watch football every weekend.

This is why the Skates had big attendances in those days. Half of them were Saints fans.

And the other half were sailors yet their stadium was still half empty.
