| VAR for corners on 12:01 - Dec 2 with 1284 views | ted_hendrix | We haven't taken a half decent corner since Trevor Sinclairs up at Huddersfield In the dying seconds one cold January night and Alan McDonald subsequently headed the ball into the net winning us the game. Now when we get a corner and everyone gets excited I just sit there half asleep, sometimes fully asleep. | |

| VAR for corners on 12:12 - Dec 2 with 1243 views | Watford_Ranger | Enjoyed Andy Hinchcliffe making himself sound very important with a long explanation of the new rule of giving a corner when the keeper holds onto the ball too long for the exactly zero people sad enough to be watching Birmingham v Watford and not be aware of a rule change talked about incessantly for months. | | | |
| VAR for corners on 12:29 - Dec 2 with 1202 views | QPR_Hibs | It's only when the keeper holds onto the ball for more than 8 seconds though. What about when the keeper is taking a goal kick and then decides to move the ball to the other side of the six yard box. And then starts kicking his boots against the posts and having a drink of water etc? Should that not be penalised as well? | |

Don’t forget the defence standing for the short goal kick, keeper feigning to pass one way, deciding not to, hesitating, have a little think, gesture to defence it’ll be a long goal kick, walk backwards, kick post, hoof to halfway line once defenders have jogged 50 yards.

I'd start with the coin toss. Joking aside, I'd be 100% behind VAR if it called back play for clear and obvious incidents of feigning injury, resulting in a booking and/or reversal of decisions. I'd also stop the clock when the ball is not in play. Yes, we might be there until midnight, but those fcukers who roll around pretending to be dead don't get the advantage of wasting time as a result. Maybe a bit controversial, but to avoid teams wasting time down by the oppo's corner flag when leading, from the 75th minute onward, the defending team can kick the player as hard as they like, without retribution, if the player is deemed to be wasting time...'kin 'ave some!!

We are shockingly poor at all deliveries but have no problems giving up goals to the opposition week after week.from theirs Norwich looked like Arsenal/England in that first half curving corners under our bar and causing mass panic and we all saw the results

They beat the first man, which as we all know in professional football, is not fair.

| VAR for corners on 07:23 - Dec 3 with 753 views | EastR | Apparently you get a penalty now if the defender is 'not looking at the ball' when tussling with the attacker at corners according to VAR at Newcastle -Spurs. Looking forward to that one being applied this weekend up and down the country | |

They were talking about a list where two or more must be ticked before a penalty is awarded. FFS, why make it so complicated? Does it break the laws of the game? Yes, it's foul play, award the penalty and possibly a card. No, play on.

I think there are far too many penalties in general. A penalty is a huge ‘punishment’ relative to many of the ‘crimes’, particularly for those silly handballs on the corner of the box which clearly aren’t deliberate but also something like this which was a foul IMO but a penalty feels too much. Plus everyone loves indirect free kicks inside the box. They’re fun.

Can we get it installed to force retakes of our shitty short corners so we have to take them properly when we cock it up ? If so, I’m in and would contribute to the fund. VAR_Starter anyone ? (Not you, Illy.)

I don't think VAR would be suitable. However, bamboo thrashing canes or electric cattle prods, just the ticket...

Doesn't help when one man insists on taking EVERY set piece , whether it's right side left side or wherever. OK if your Beckhamesque.

The point I have been trying to make for years thank you . Pretty simple really right side corner delivered inswinging under bar by left footed player see Norwich first half barrage . Left side hammered inswinging by right footed player causing mass panic resulting in penalties, goals etc. QPR take outswingers resulting in fast break attacks towards our goal with all our defenders behind the play after scratching their balls waiting to attack our corners which never drop on their heads

Agreed. Never really seen the point of an outswinging corner.

To be fair, we don't know if he's insisting on taking them. For all we know he may hate taking corners.

| VAR for corners on 14:44 - Dec 3 with 286 views | DaBurgh | I think to add interest and spice things up a bit, whenever we are awarded a corner at a home match, a seat number should be randomly announced and the lucky individual will come down and take the corner. If this person delivers what is deemed a 'nice ball' in he (or she) will rest in the 'dugout' © for the remainder of the match. He or she will take all subsequent corners. Simple! | |
