Big focus on the Canadian ice hockey team in Chez Planet and my four yearly curling fix is well under way. I find it incredible how biathletes get their heart rates down as quickly as they do to start shooting, and the speed the downhill skiers manage.
Anyone going or any one/event to watch out for?

I attended cross-country skiing final medals races by men and women yesterday & today at Tesero stadium, Trentino, with other Rs fans. Very good atmosphere, but hoping it will be better when I attend the Blackburn match next weekend!

The BBC’s coverage of the figure skating last night was laughable: they missed the actual winning performance as they chose to show Claire Balding instead and their fanboy build up and commentary for Malinin was undone when he kept falling over and didn’t even attempt his party trick. The bloke performed with his own voice added over the music as well 🙄

My wife loves the figure skating, me not so much, but very enjoyable watching all the main contenders constantly falling over and the gold going to the only bloke capable of staying on his feet. Was like watching Oxford/QPR playing out a World Cup final.
The Clare Balding show managed to suck the life out of the Matt Weston gold medal, where’s Hazel Irvine when you need her.

Totsuka's half pipe run to take the gold was incredible. It starts at six minutes 40 seconds in. Fluid, packed with very difficult moves, virtually flawless... This former snowboarder - rubbish snowboarder - is totally in awe of him .
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

The dual moguls was a new event this year. To see them racing each other down is an amazing spectacle. If you het a chance, watch it on catch up. I ski several times each year and love the moguls, but to do that at that speed is something I can't fully comprehend.

It must completely ruin their knees
Extra mature cheddar......a simple cheese for a simple man
I watched all of last nights team skeleton event. The British woman completely blew what was supposed to be a Team GB stroll to the gold medal. She was soooo bad. Fortunately for her Matt Weston put in, for me, the most incredible performance of the entire Winter Olympics and somehow grabbed victory. Amazing TV.

I can't think their hips are overjoyed either!
I read that Vonn is now on her third op for her leg and they might have to amputate if that dosnt work , huge external fixing to keep it one piece as well.
Things ive learnt this week , You can cheat in curling !

Given she sustained a serious ACL injury just 10 days before the WOs and given all that she had achieved in the sport, her decision to race was complete and utter madness.
Not sure what she was expecting and thus, not sure how much sympathy I have for her as result.

It did seem to be the wrong pairing as Freya Tarbit was the quickest woman on the course and her and Weston would have walked it. Really felt for Tarbit as being the fastest and missed out on a medal by 0.01 secs
As you say great TV and the winning pair with so much more personality than those two that won the snowboard cross.

Yeah I mentioned that at the time about the total absence of any celebration, emotion or personality of the woman snowboarder. She was actually a bit scary.
