Swansea likewise had nothing to play for, but where decent worked hard and put a performance on for the fans who pay good money to watch and travel.
Really struggled to pass from A to B tonight.
Some very poor performance tonight Kolli, Burrell, Hayden, Walsh, Vale, Morgan.
They say games are won and lost in Midfield and that was very true tonight.
Madsen looked encouraging when he came on and will make a difference.
I think it will be more of the same in the last 2 games.
New keeper is a must nothing sticks to his gloves.

Was thinking when seeing Madsen play tonight.
Whatever you do Rangers dont sell him.
Morgan needs a league one loan. Hayden is not performing anymore. Varane is way better than his performamces, but he seems to be attempting to be the Temu version of Varane. Field os solid, but feel the club wish to move him on.
Walsh actually made some good saves today but i am not a fan

Pretty much spot on . Couldn’t understand how Morgan wasn’t hooked but I suppose he’s the future and Hayden isn’t , In fairness he wasn’t much better.
We were lethargic from start to finish and as was pointed out on another thread , we didn’t even dispute the blatantly outside the box penalty decision.
Thought Adamson after a dodgy start was pretty decent.
Madsen and Chair are getting up to speed as well.
Walsh is getting some negative reviews but some decent saves tonight.
Still doesn’t inspire confidence and had his usual dodgy moment especially in the first half.

It's completely baffling. It was like some kind of training routine where the coach wanted to see the attackers against defenders. I had to count the number of players on the pitch to check we had eleven. Just wave after wave of them walking through our midfield. | | | |

Worse than that, he stuck our best player and playmaker up front so that he could stick to his formation with two up top.
And what of Harvey Vale? A few ok games and we think we have a player here and then the utter garbage he has thown out the last two or three games. His lack of tracking cost the first goal on Saturday and the second last night even if the penalty was a "little" soft.
We were outrun and outclassed last night. They looked fitter, stronger and hungrier from the off. 44 games in. That is what match fit looks like. I'll bet that they do less bike work than our underprepared lot.
Adamson, Walsh, Smith and Morgan on the pitch at the end may make give Nourry wood, but it will win you precisely nothing in this league and if that is an option next season then 16th will be an aspiration not the norm. |  |

Poku yet again with most likely a hamstring injury. It is clear that he must have a very serious injury problem and you can see why other Championship teams passed on him and we were able to sign him. Looks totally lost to me. Also what is going on with Obikwu signs 3 months ago, no real update on what is wrong with him, have Rangers stitched themselves up again with another Taylor Richards type. I would still sign RND as he was the only one last night who really was trying. For me the jury is still well out on Stephan, it was glaringly obvious to us in the stands that major changes were needed at HT, yet he waits another 20 mins into 2nd half to bring on the quality players like Chair and Madsen who actually made a difference. But then again Swansea looked much more capable than us and deserved their win. Going to be a hard watch on Saturday against a Derby team who still gave a chance of the play offs, managed by Eustace who knows what he is doing. If Rangers don't turn up could be a bit of a drubbing for us. |  | | |

Yeah Vale, I mean, I guess “inconsistent” would be a nice way of putting it. Remember when some thought he could play left wing back 😂. Hes done enough good things to keep around and hope he improves next season though.
Adamson - I thought he did ok. I think him playing stops Mbengue starting next season with a suspension too!
Smith will hopefully get a loan. I would think Edwards, Dunne, JCS, Morrison will be the centre backs next season.
Morgan has had enough games now towards end of the season to show he isn’t up to this level now. I think only Madsen and Field are good enough out of Morgan, Varane, Hayden, Madsen and Field. So we need a lot of work to get that midfield sorted. | | | |

Currently two more points than last season, and can't see that improving much over the last couple of games. Yes we weren't in relegation trouble bla bla but all that did was make it mind-numbingly boring over the last few weeks.
Nourry likes looking at data - so how about this question for him. How much outlay for those 2 more points?

We seem to have gone back to this slow, play out from the back slop. We are not good enough and it just invites pressure. Swansea were quicker, more energetic and better with and without the ball.
Adamson did ok and will have learnt a lot from last night. I thought Edwards and RND were ok too and Walsh made some good saves.
However this run of games has shown Morgan can not play in a 2 man midfield. Vale only shows up 1 game in 5 and is a liability without the ball and I'm not sure we will ever get a run of games with Poku staying fit.
It will be a real shame if we end the season like this and not hit the 60 point mark. | | | |

It seems our preseason friendlies are now also being played at the end of the season - same level of intensity, commitment and general coordination, same experimental team selection, just a lot colder.

The usual kneejerk stuff after a defeat.
I didn't see a total lack of effort from us, just that Swansea in the main were fitter than us and ran harder (101 Championship basics). Can we get their conditioning coach?
Not surprisingly we looked a lot better when Chair and Madsen came on. It's been the same thing all season but if your best players are going to be injured then inevitably your results will not be as good as you'd like. Until that gets sorted (and/or Williams is replaced with someone better), don't expect things to change much.
Stupidly though I did think we'd come out better in the second half but we only seemed to get worse. I don't know what goes on in the dressing rooms at half time but we look so lethargic at the restart. Have to fix that. |  |

I'd agree not a 'total' lack of effort, but you do cover some of the things that we were short on last night - running harder being one.
And tackles were being pulled out of at times. Ok nobody wants to see a player get injured at this stage, but Vale for example was guilty of that more than once.
Hard to read too much into it but Swansea looked like they were in a gear higher than us for most of the night, and that was still only 3rd gear at most. | | | |

Game annoyed me - having gone through the ball ache of getting there I wished I hadnt.We only looked half ok once the subs came on and we had players who play with heads up and can move a ball quickly

The one big positive for me last night was the journey to the ground. I have never seen the A40 so quiet. We got from Bucks to Savoy Circus in no time.

I think a lot of our young/fringe players have shown they still have a loooong way to go.
Walsh - Did alright last night but body of evidence across thre season is iffy
Adamson - Dodgy start and then just played it safe. Every pass was backwards
Smith - 2 penalties conceded in 10 mins of football
Morgan - A real stinker last night
Kolli - Still a way to go (4 goals all season in 2 games against Sheff Weds and Pompey)
Add in that Esquardinha and Bennie don't seem good enough yet either.
One would hope the powers that be can get out their own way and realise that to improve next season we need to improve these players out on loan, but in order to do that we need our senior players fit.
Whilst I understand you have to look at youngsters, fans still came last night and the attitude and team selection was a middle finger to them I thought.
Saturday is the last home game of the season and I'd like us to play the strongest team
