High expectations and reality. Dreams. Are a false reality. And that’s that.

One day Is just one day.

Up the R’s. Again.

Acceptance of the future means freedom from the past.
I was so hip in the sixties, I even called my girlfriend “man”.

And whats wrong with Wllesden?
Well it was ok when I moved away at 12, 55 years ago!

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

More likely Kilburn than Willesden tomorrow as I have some cheques to pay in and need a few things from the fruit and veg stall.

Lived there 1969-1990. Moaned a lot of the time about how boring it was, but would have said the same about wherever I lived as a teenager. As my Mum used to say, it's easy to get to lots of other places from there (eg Loftus Road), which you can't say about somewhere like Kenton.

I grew up in Willesden just off Brondesbury Park; grandparents lived in Dollis Hill. In fact until three years ago my mum had never lived anywhere else except NW2!

Today Willesden......tomorrow Willesden. Not surprising as I live there.

Easy enough to get loads of places from where I am in Willesden. Tubes, buses, Thameslink and the Overground.

Kenton My parents dragged me there from Kensal Rise in the early 70s when I was a young teen. The blandest and most boring slab of suburbia in London. I hated it.

Willesden until I was two, then hopped on the train to Wembley, just off Preston Rd to be precise, dangerously close to Kenton.

I ended up attending Copland secondary school in Wembley. It had a deservedly bad reputation even in those days but over the years got a lot worse with serious embezzlement by a head teacher and drug street gangs having the run of the place. Unsurprisingly it's now an academy. I believe Raheem Sterling is a former pupil.

You need to try Perivale, David. It’s got a hill.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Honed my reading skills on a bus from Wembley to Willesden when aged 4 or 5 in the late 60s to my parents embarrasment, when my Dad said as I was learning to read I shouted out what was scrawled on the back of the seat in front of me " this fxxking bus goes to Willesden".
