If that’s true and the injury is in any way related to his previous one, that is spectacularly bad injury management and rehabilitation by Ben Williams’ team. He is a high value asset, taking up a big chunk of the wage bill, and is our best centre half when fit. They cannot have two seasons in a row where we get nothing from him. He hasn’t ruptured his ACL, or broken a leg…it’s muscle injuries, isn’t it? |  | | |

I think its the opposite to be fair it has to be miserable for him not able to play and his career is in real danger going forward unless he can find the magic pill to heal up.
He is an excellent player but has been crippled by injuries its just bad luck regardless of the money he is earning .Players want/need to play hopefully he can pull out of it |  | | |

We were fed a lot of bullshit about his injuries being unlucky and exceptional at one point too.

So rehabilitation pretty critical to get right and relatively well known then? He also had a ton of calf issues before that, didn’t he?
It’s a major f*ck up IF he has gone off after 11mins with something related to it…and that could be a muscle injury for a muscle that suffered through the rehab (wasting away) and wasn’t built back up well enough.
He has been out a very long time. It’s important to get it right. Hopefully it’s something minor and unrelated. | | | |

To come off so soon into his first game back , after that length of a lay off just can’t be ‘precautionary’.
I don’t know why he’s come off so should reserve judgement up to a point .
But we are not likely to find out so I will have to make my own mind up .
Through my own experience I know you have to play through some discomfort as the body , muscles and tissues start adapting to the physicality of a real game . You get pain and discomfort all over the place . But 11 minutes is nothing , which suggests he’s got another serious problem , maybe the same problem , or a fresh injury .
Whatever it is , I do feel for him. He must be distraught .
But in the flip side , we ain’t a charity either .
He’ll be on a big wage and is useless if he can’t get himself on the pitch at all . |  | | |
