All to go for me (with regret in the case of Henderson). Camps too inconsistent, Hendo too expensive & the rest just not up to it. Huge number of players being released & for once it’ll be a buyers market given current problems in the game. Hope Dale can use their relatively sound financial position to their advantage. EDIT- could see Wilbraham staying on if in a player-coach role.

I would only release him if we could bring in Bigus Dickus as a replacement.
I think virtually all the lower league clubs will of load all bar their core players. Can see the old Wiseman scenario of being released and then resigned becoming a regular occurrence this summer. I think plenty will be willing to re sign on lesser terms than they are on now, as the new reality hits home. Camps is the interesting one, he and his agent would have been hoping for an improved offer this year, but can only see him being offered the same terms, at best. I hope he does agree to stay. Tavares I liked what I saw at Wimbledon and aghast at what I saw at Wycombe, when he was used as a sub. He has a decent number of minutes in league 1 and will get stronger and fitter, so I would keep him. Morley to an age to start to realise his potential and I think patience with Tavares will also bear fruit. I can take pleasure the agents having to work for their money this summer.

I've seen nothing from Tavares to warrant him staying.
And his goal at Bolton was an own goal.
Like 442Dale said though, it would be no surprise to see Hendo and Camps released due to cost cutting.
It would be the saddest thing since Jones left to see Hendo leave so close to the record.
Bit harsh on Tavares, to say it was an own goal. Even if that were true, if his speed, skill and determination in taking the ball forward from where he started with it and forcing the issue is anything to go by, it'd have to go down as the biggest assist of the season! In fact, i can't off the top of my head think of another goal scored by Dale this season that came about due to the efforts of just one player, rather than being a team effort
Was it a one-off? The Dale coaching staff will have seen a lot more than us, so i'll go with their call

I wouldn't be surprised to see all the younger pros given a years extension. They'll still be on low wages and that may be required in the circumstances.
I'd also expect a few final year players to be given contracts.
Camps and Hendo are the obvious ones we'd like to keep. Depending on his wage I think Alby could continue to do a good job for us.
Full backs and Strikers/Wide men are probably where we'll be shortest.

Don't buy all that bollocks about agents - they are there to negotiate and advise but ultimately it was Hendersons decision and HE decided he wanted more so he's only got himself to blame.
Its a whole new landscape now and unlikely he'll get anywhere near what he was holding out for. A shame but I've no sympathy. It was pure greed and I've no doubt his best days are behind him so thanks for the memories Hendo and good luck in the future.

Just re read the last club announcement, BBM & Senior staff have had a 50% pay cut, if they had been furloughed they would not be allowed to work.
Releasing players now would be a bit harsh as the government will be paying some of their wages, released from contract (basically sacked) then its dole queue time.
As much as I joked in my opening post, Calvin has done a lot for the club (scoring aside), he’s a really nice guy in person & for the extra effort he puts in like Peter Vincenti did.
Hope the club does the right thing & gives all players a short term extension, 85% of £2,500 is better than a 100% of nothing
I suspect lots of players who were playing hardball with contract extensions will end up getting nowhere near what they left on the table.
Regarding our of contract players and continuing to keep them in furlough as ' a good will gesture' when their contracts expired, that would mean that they could not train at other clubs or even at ours. I would assume that when players are recalled to train they are no longer furloughed and then paid by the club again. By early July there may be some form of team training allowed with 'behind closed doors' games taking place at the beginning of the season. It would make sense to at least try to start the season, as that would be in around another three months and who knows what the level of infection will be by then, with games behind closed doors.
There will be lots of players chasing after fewer contracts on much lower wages. I expect a lot of one years deals and lots of trialists.

Twitter currently reporting that we and Bolton are both in ‘advance talks’ with Zach Clough to sign permanently in the summer.
Would you take him back? I’d definitely give him another shot. His last time here he was injured for a lot of it and he allegedly fell out with Hill (as did most of the squad, allegedly). So a fresh start with nice-guy BBM might see him play better.
It does seem a bit surreal to be talking about actually signing anyone though at present!

Would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in PFA HQ at the moment. If I was Gordon Taylor I’d be clearing my desk right now with a taxi (engine running) outside. Players have had all their Christmases at once for years, I’d like to see a comparison graph of the average working wage v footballers wages over the past 3 decades or so. The game was long overdue a reality check. It’s not personal Gordon, it’s just business.

Henderson clearly has a say, and apparently has, but ultimately the negotiations are handled by his agents on his behalf and they know the club’s limits but still...

Apparently he laughed and said "never heard of him", but given their geographical location and financial backing, I wouldn't be surprised to see this rumour surface again.

He's a clever guy and a very good footballer that's why he has been successful and yes I would say he's a very driven individual - but with regard to his contract negotiations I maintain that he has been greedy.

You must know the exact details of the offer on the table from the club as a comparison to Hendos apparent demands,how else can you "maintain he is being greedy"?
