The gutless performance reminded me of the Pompey game last time we were relegated we are in free fall again all the way back to Div 1. How Marko gets a free header and then reacts quicker to put the ball in just goes to show how crap our centre backs are bring back yoshi at least he shows heart these players should be playing for their semi final place if I was sparky I would give a few youngsters a chance and that includes the semi final, they will be the players who will be here next season. Yesterday told me we were down not on the result but with the performance the players gave

This was an absolute embarrassment this Saints team are they are overpaid and overrated and seem to think its ok to rip the fans off with the rubbish they are giving us week in week out but this runs so much deeper Les Reed and Ralph Kruger should be ashamed of themselves for ripping our club apart and still taking their huge pay packets every month when the hard working fans have to use their hard earned wages to watch this rubbish its so sad to see this great club being destroyed by these criminals. We Need to act NOW

Hughes has said he now needs to turn to players he can rely on. Who are they?
Goalie, ok, yes McCarthy, no question.
Full backs, Soares and Bertrand. Neither have covered themselves in glory recently. Cedric in particular was awful Saturday. Pied has performed well every time he's been given a chance, so I'd say Pied next time. And Bertrand, I suppose you stick with him, but would it do any harm to bring McQueen back?
Central defence. Basically Stephens and Hoedt are apprenticing for life in the championship. They're both rubbish right now and Hoedt in particualar (sorry Nick, but I never understood your enthusiasm for this bloke). Yoshida is all guts. If he's fit he has to replace one of these apprentices.
DM. Hojberg, Lemna and Romeu are what we've got, basically. Hojberg looks as if he gives a shit, so I'd keep him. Toss up between the other two.
AM. This is where we have too many players and not an ounce of real quality. Redmond, Boufal, Tadic, they are all basically incapable or unwilling to the do the job that's needed right now. Sims has to start before any of them, because he has skill, drive, and enthusiasm, and he's not predictable for other teams.
Midfield: JWP, and Davis. JWP is often worth including, but he's usually ineffectual. But compared to the AM choices, he is what we've got
Strikers. Austin at least was trying, so you keep him in. Long should never ever be thought of as a striker; he's a total waste of space at this level. Gabbiadini and Carillo are fish out of water at this point. No point in starting either of them , despite fan feeling for Gabbi. (Bring back Gallagher or try Obafemi again. )

So for me, next time out:

McCarthy
Pied, Bertrand, Yoshida, Stephens or Hoedt
Hojberg, Lemina or Romeu
Sims, JWP, Redmond/Tadic/Boufal
Austin
Subs: Forster, McQueen, Cedric, Stepens/Hoedt, Lemina/Romeu, Redmond/Tadic/Boufal, Gabbiadini

Sincerely for you Nick..why talk about players the problems lie way beyond them.
I have been the arch board opponent for 4 years, managers have taken flak, now the players failings are finally being exposed and taking flak, yet it is sleight of hand, the real villains are still here, the real responsibility lies with them.

Look fans no one is going to turn a one footed ultra lightweight negative Redmond into a superstar winger, scrub that a reasonable PL winger, no one can teach positioning and defending to defenders who make the same mistakes game after game, no one is going to turn Charlie into a bulletproof indestructable athlete, nor Gabbi into Van Persie, nor teach Soares to cross, or anyone to take corners bar JWP who brings other problems, no one is going to turn a group of ever changing players into a single harmonised growing up together team..

However, as horrible as that may all be it is like an iceberg what we do not see that is the real issue.

To give the new board and Kat a 'clean sheet' it was important to work the PR and spin the negative on Cortese, one such area was the Staplewood black hole, now the overspend was caused in the main by the relentless pursuit of latest methodologies and technology, even as Staplewood was expanded City and Utd, CFC had cottoned on, I said back in 2013 we could not expect our academy and recruitment 'edge' to not be replicated and improved on...Steve Jobs made an interesting observation the moment something is designed and working it is already redundant, closer to home SAF was always looking at the next goal not his current achievement.

The PL is a constantly evolving model, whatever you spent last year will not be enough, whatever technical, tactical, training advantages you have this year will be superceded the following year...

The PL is an investment 'plus' model, what Kat adopted was doomed the moment it was acted upon, in every aspect SFC who for an all too brief period were media darlings, became such because the club was ahead of the curve, when NC was handed his hat, the baby was effectively thrown out with the bathwater.

If you are in the business of evolution then those that fail to adapt die out and that is what we as supporters are up against.

What should have been was Staplewood 'still' ahead of its time, 3x the money into recruitment of the best youth and academy staffing in Europe (not jobs for mates), a 45.000 stadium, half the sales if that and certainly not to strengthen one club, the retention of MoPo and the project, SFC 'branded' as THE Southern powerhouse...

None of this is dreaming, nor unaffordable (certainly not 210 million) it WAS a basic requirement of keeping pace with change, in 3 years time 7/8 clubs will be circa 55-60k or more capacity, 5 clubs will have increased capacity by over 50%..what have we done?, the top 8 will have doubled commercial revenues in the next 3 years from already serious levels...our corporate is nothing, the stadium still a flatpack, after the fat lady sings what will we have accomplished in comparison to say BHA or Bmuff next year......

The players infuriate because they play for my club but they were chosen by others, the team ethos has been installed by others, the negativity and non ambitious vibe ditto and the appalling re-investment and forward thinking again is way above the players abilities to solve......if we cannot have evolution let us have revolution.

It will be very hard to achieve any of those ambitions in the Championship, whoever might be running the club in future. One suspects that we are finally heading back to where we probably belong in terms of actual size and ambition, the second divison to give it it's proper name.

Well said warrens76 what you say is spot on. Our club has been ruined by the past Owner and the Boards Money grabbing and No investment into the FUTURE.
